I usually use permanent at home hair dye; but, decided on this demi permanent hair dye., specifically to cover my grays. I felt it was very easy to use and it did a very good job in covering my grays and making my already dark hair richer and more toned. It is pricey, but it has withstanded a good amount of hair washes (at least 6 without it looking as washed out as other box color dye have). It runs about $32 for one application, but based on the fact that it covered my grays, toned down some brassiness I had and lasted after at least a few weeks and washes, I would order again.

I have very dark brown hair that I gloss black regularly switching between Revlon gloss and Redken gloss. I was excited to try this one out as I heard great things from the brand. First off the box is amazing it opens up with instructions and everything you could need. The gloves are actual gloves, not those sad clear plastic things you usually get. It even comes with a shower cap to not stain anything while you wait for this color to process. I did not use the application bottle as I have split-dyed hair and I need to be precise. The hair dye formula is THICK. I am used to much more watery consistencies from other glosses. This is great if you are a beginner at coloring your hair. It felt almost like a hair mask. It didn't stain my scalp and it blended the handful of greys I had poking out. This is a very natural black. I would consider it a level 2. I usually go for a more blue-based black gloss but it did leave my hair shiny and soft. If this is your first time trying to gloss your hair at home then spend the extra money to get all the bells and whistles and an easier formula to work with. This is a very beginner-friendly kit.
