Great for book repair.
Great product delivered quickly. Strong, and light weight for easy handling for maneuvering around as you remove old glue and re-glue book bindings. Don't expect to get the same pressure available in a book press 30 times the weight, but it is much easier to store and move around.

Truly inspiring!
Never has a product motivated me more to diy my own version! When I opened the package the first thing I noticed was that black plastic bits came flying out onto the floor. What was it? I wondered. Oh! It's the top for raising and lowering the press. Instead of round plastic to allow for ease of movement, I get to contend with jagged edges, yay! The blood sacrifice I'll make with every turn will make me appreciate every press even more!Naively, I persist and continue to follow the instructions to salvage what I can. But wait what's this? One of the bolts won't thread all the way through? Oh well, not like I wanted even pressure or anything. It'll just give my books more of a handmade feel to it!Then I began to put everything together, but alas, the holes drilled into the wood don't seem to have been measured properly and the wood top becomes stuck unevenly on the bolts and it is unable to budge at all. Now, my spirit has been crushed, so I guess the press did work one time. I am headed to the hardware store to start from scratch. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, your level of craftsmanship had given me the confidence to make my own.PsI should have gone through all the pictures and information on this product, if I had, I would have noticed all the typos, typography issues, and incorrect terminology. So my bad, I forgot this place has no QA. It came in a nice box tho

SMOOTH OPERATION, SOLID PRODUCT
I like this product much better than the metal one I had ordered. This has smooth edges, easy to manipulate books, pages, covers into place to press. It's a solid bamboo product.

Works great!
My daughter has been into pressing flowers and making book marks, jewelry.. little Knick knacks. To do it with a book (which is how I used to do it) can take a long time and sometimes the results aren’t completely flat and you risk ruining a perfectly good book! After we realized she was going to continue pressing flowers we decided to get a real press- wow! Such a difference! This makes the flowers very thin, perfectly preserved in detail- just lovely! She’s actually started to sell her finished products because they look that much better!

It's awesome!
Easy to assemble, although the instructions aren't great, you can put it together just by looking at the photos. Comes with a little screwdriver, so you don't need any tools. The plates are nice and heavy, smooth and not likely to ever warp.I got this for an off-label use: as a linocut printing press. I've seen others use similar presses for block printing and I'm eager to give it a try.I do have a small complaint. The top screw that you tighten to exert pressure on the boards should have wider threads. That way you would only have to twist a couple of times. As it is, you spend a couple of minutes twisting to get the boards pressed together. I might try to rig something up so I can attach a cordless drill so I can close and open it more quickly.

Nice book press.
10/11/24 update: Thanks to another reviewer I was able to go back and fully countersink the bottom nuts so that this press sits flush to work surface. So much better! Updated from 3 to 4 stars. All parts were included and the wood is very nice.It was extremely difficult to thread one of the long bolts but once I grabbed a pair of pliers to turn the bolt, I was able to get it through. The bottom board does have ‘feet’ to protect your work surface, however the bottom of the bolts extend down further than the surface so you get a ‘rocking motion’ when you press down and the bottom of the bolts can absolutely damage your work surface. This version is marketed as a book press but instructions call it a flower press - I think it works for both. If you’re pressing a thin book, you’ll need to eliminate the nuts between the boards. Could be better.

Very nice book press
I created my own book press a few years ago, but I have to admit, this one is much better. It's large enough for a standard A4 folded in half type book and provides one-screw pressure. It works very well. If there's one complaint, it's the instructions, which are better just setting off to the side, ignoring them, and figuring it out yourself, because they basically tell you to look at the 3" wide, low-resolution pictures and figure it out, which isn't helpful when you're trying to decide where a tiny nut goes.To address another review: The press does sit flush, but the trick is you have to screw the long side studs all the way into the bottom hole. In mine, one side didn't want to push all the way in, but with a little coaxing (still just hand-tightening), It wiggled it's way up into the counter-sunk hole like it was supposed to.To help with assembly: (1) The studs go up through the bottom hole, then through the hole in the top plate, then there's a nut, the top brace, another nut, and the top cap. (2) The hand-crank press bolt screws down through the brace with the bottom convex washer attached with the little screw into the bottom of the bolt.
