Perfect Socks
It's rare that a product lives up to the hype, but Darn Tough socks are even better than you could ever imagine. Everything you've read about them is true- comfort, quality, durability, breathability, moisture wicking, temperature control, etc. There's nothing for me to add that hasn't already been said, so I'll just say this, as someone who has been buying and wearing these socks for a long time- all the crazy positive reviews are true. Darn Tough actually delivers on their promises. The one EXTREMELY important thing that doesn't get talked about, however is that you ABSOLUTELY MUST use a laundry detergent designed for wool. I really can't stress this enough. It isn't expensive- a $7.00 bottle of Woolite lasts multiple months. (2025 prices) DO NOT WASH THESE SOCKS WITH NORMAL DETERGENT. Here's a link to the detergent I use, or just search "Woolite"https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VPBNJQ?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder_k0_1_7&=&crid=2WQZUHA8SPQAR&sprefix=woolite&th=1

It's a Darn Tough
This sock is possibly the best over the calf sock I have worn, hands down, when it comes to comfort, warmth, quality, cushioning, fit, softness, and endurance. It still has retained the aforementioned qualities after almost 6 years of heavy usage. Truly a great performer. The merino wool helps it keep odor free for over a couple of weeks even after heavy usage, which helps when you do not have luxury to carry a lot of socks. Honestly, after switching to Darn Tough socks, I usually carry only one pair per week of travel, knowing the odor is not going to brew even after wearing the sock for a week in grueling conditions. And of course it is Mit-USA by Patriots. The only drawback, I would say is that the sock runs a little large.

Stay up, super dense and warm
Love these socks, nice and warm. My wife got them for me this Christmas and they are my go to socks when it’s cold. The tops are not stretching out either, if this changes later I will update the review.

Warm, wooly, comfy ...
Five stars because that is the maximum allowed as I reach for the sky. Coming back down to earth, I realize that the first thing my feet feel upon landing on solid ground is the soft wooly comfort of my Darn Tough over-the-calf heavyweight hunter socks.Darn Tough socks really are darn tough on the outside world. By contrast, on the inside world inside my shoes, a pair of these Darn Tough socks become a warm & cuddly couple that snuggle & hug my feet, arches, ankles, and calves (keeping them warm, dry, and blister-free).Darn Tough's merino wool wicks well -- wickedly -- all year round, year after year.Of course, nothing lasts forever, with but one exception: Darn Tough socks! They come with a lifetime guarantee: wear 'em out, mail 'em back, get a brand new pair free of charge. All you pay is the postage to mail 'em back. Thus, Darn Tough has a lifetime guarantee that truly is for life. Like a fifty-year marriage that never gets old -- ever!PS: I wear Darn Tough socks every day of my life except February 29, which is a day off for old socks every where, every wear.ARCHIVED REVIEW THAT STILL RINGS TRUE: Darn Tough socks deserve more than the maximum. Much more. These socks are just too good to be true. My own personal experience & my own feet's experience leave me gushing with enthusiasm. O the stories, the beautiful stories, the heart-warming stories, the foot-warming stories that my blister-free feet could tell you – if only they could speak for themselves. If only! It took me four years of walking to wear out my first pair of Darn Tough socks. During those four years, pair after pair of other socks (not Darn Tough) wore out & got tossed out. But not my Darn Toughs. My Darn Toughs hung tough. Yes, Darn Tough socks may SEEM a tad expensive at first blush. But over time, in the long run, Darn Tough socks are extremely economical. They pay for themselves, so to speak, if you calculate the cost PER MILE. In addition, Darn Tough socks give you the incalculable benefits of peace of mind, comfort of feet, and freedom from blisters. Bottom line: My Darn Tough socks gave me more than my money's worth. Much more. As if that were not enough, on top of all of the above, Darn Tough's customer service was more than happy to exchange my four-year-old worn-out pair of socks for a brand-new pair -- without delay! Same quality. Same style. Same color. Same everything. Except brand new. I am a Doubting Thomas by name and by nature. But when it comes to Darn Tough's socks, Darn Tough's lifetime warranty, and Darn Tough's customer service, I am a Doubting Thomas turned die-hard believer. Good product. Good people. Good Everything. It just doesn't get any better.

Always great quality!
Darn Tough socks are the only socks I wear now. And I always try to buy the ones with the highest percentage of Merino wool I can. These socks are fantastic!

They're actually pretty good socks
At 6'9" and 350 lbs it's hard to find anything to fit my legs. These socks actually fit better than most socks. My only complaint would be that they aren't tall enough. There's plenty of room between the toe and the heel of the sock compared to my foot, but it's a few inches too short going over my calf. It slides over the calf initially, but after moving my leg it slips down a couple inches, resting over the thickest part of my calf. Needless to say they're a little sore after a long day on my feet, but if I wear them just to mow the lawn or something, they're actually really comfortable. The thicker fabric cushions my foot in my boots like my compression socks never could.

Best cold weather socks
Best cold weather socks I’ve ever used. Durable, warm, comfortable. Doesn’t make you sweat much and they don’t get stinky fast. Darn Tough has the best warranty which makes the price worth it.

Love them
These are some of my favorite socks. Good padding, comfortable, and warm. I would not recommend them for warm climates, but for mild winters they're great! If you live in the northern US, Canada, or other truly cold winter location; hopefully you know to layer socks anyway. These would be a good outer layer with a thin liner.
