Ageless Beauty the French Way: Secrets from Three Generations of French Beauty Editors

3 Generations of Natural Beauty
I purchased a used copy and although it contained some handwritten notes and underlining, that did not bother me. The book is written by Clémence von Mueffling, the granddaughter of Régine Debrise, and daughter of Lorraine Bollore. These three French beauty editors share their tips and secrets for obtaining ageless care of skin, hair, and body and so much more. The book is extremely well organized and although the copyright is 2018 the information is still applicable today. Many products are shared and the narration is interesting and chocked full of ideas. I have always been fascinated how the French women just seem to have a special aura and I wanted to know how they achieve it. This book gave me good insight. Wish I would have found this book sooner.

Great, simple, easy and clear guide - guidance at every age
I like how this book not only focuses on specific skincare and beauty items, but they have recommendation for the three main stages of life - basically young, middle age, mature. I primarily bought this book for the specific brand and item suggestions for things like cleansing, moisturizer, etc... and ended up walking away with much much more. I've been a life long fan of French products like Avene and Bioderma (great to see they do recommend them!) as well as more luxury house skincare, which they also recommend. Non-French brands are mentioned, but I was surprised by the hair care section as well! End chapters are on basic French lifestyle and recommendations, something I'd like to do, but at this time cannot.I decided to research more in depth the product recommendation and familiarize myself with brands not often sold in America and made changes to my skincare regime. I had been trying the Korean or Asian skincare method and realized despite all my efforts following their guidance my skin was skin dry, dehydrated, and I spent so much money on products that were really not helping. Going back to a much more simpler routine helped save my moisture barrier and brought on the care I really needed. The recommendations in this book are easy but rock solid. Despite being in my 40's and being in the skincare game for 20+ years even I learned something new.

Lovely read
Pretty much the same things you’ll find in every book written about French women, lifestyle, beauty etc... eat fresh, whole food, watch portion sizes, add activity to your every day, take care of your skin, apply makeup judiciously, buy clothes that fit and look good on you.

This is such an intelligent book about beauty
This is such an intelligent book about beauty ... bringing us back to the essential benefits of a simple, yet consistent, beauty routine, combined with healthy life choices. Not the high of a quick needle beauty fix, but rather, the gentleness and resilience of Beauty as a quasi meditative way of taking care of oneself, unwinding, building confidence, appreciating what we have and making the best of what we have. The read is appeasing and pleasant yet backed by the rigor of 3 generations of beauty gurus. I loved hearing about the stories of each of these fabulous women ... and also, getting a list of Best Beauty Products these days ! A must have, and a must read.

Great information...
I like the way this book was written. It speaks to the young, middle aged and older women. It has advice on fashion, skincare, hair care, body care, and even perfume from a French point of view. I also like that the author included names of products and how to purchase them. I have already tried and simply love the nail care items they themselves (author, and her mother and grandmother who were models in France) use. So if you like the simple elegance of French women, you will enjoy this book.

Lots of namedropping.
Enjoyed the book, but nothing new. I got really tired of all her name dropping. Ok, we get it...you and you’re family know all the important people in Paris connected with fashion and beauty. That became very tiresome.

A lovely, calming read
I have enjoyed this book very much, and purchased one for a friend as well.Aging is hard. We age all by ourselves, so any gentle outside guides and encouragement are most welcome. The writing is genteel and comforting, if that makes sense.I know you will enjoy this book.

Buried treasure to be found if you enjoy the hunt
This book has a lot of great beauty advice, but I felt like it was hidden by cumbersome writing. This book is written in a way that feel almost stream-of-conscience or more like someone rambled to a computer and then had a computer type it all out. I wish there were more concise renderings of the advice. It would help someone like me who just wants to get to the bottom line, the good stuff and be done with the book. None the less, there is buried treasure here, so to all those who don't mind a bit of digging, this book is recommended.

Mostly about skin care and flogging certain products-a bit boring and not the "secrets" as advertised

I am so disappointed with this book
I am so disappointed with this book, I thought it was an update on her previous book but the only thing different is the cover and the title has altered slightly. That said the original copy was very informative and I have enjoyed reading and learning from it.so the star rating reflects this copy
