Tasty, not overly sweet (i.e. dominated by sugar) and, in my opinion, different to Hotel Chocolat. Nicely packaged, save 2 stuck to internal leaf, which appears a running issue. Good, but a tad expensive? Definitely one to try.

These chocolates come very nicely packaged in a cardboard box with a sleeve which has the "menu" and ingredients on the bottom. The box is quite thick, so feels very good quality and indulgent. Taking the lid off... well, the paper which sits on top of the chocolates keeping them in their place, has some of the toppings of the chocolates stuck on it, so that's a bit disappointing.The chocolates themselves are arranged in very neat rows, no excess packaging here making the box look like it contains more than it does - this box is literally packed with chocolates! So it looks great! You get 2 of each flavour.I have to say the taste is pretty hit-and-miss. Some of them taste really nice and the flavours come through well, others don't taste as great. The chocolate doesn't have a particularly distinctive flavour or stand out as being creamy or rich, which is a shame.The sleeve has the list of the chocolates on and so you have to keep referring to it but that sleeve, as it is part of the packaging, could easily end up being thrown away. It would be much more convenient to have a "menu" inside too.So although these look very good quality how they're presented, there are some ways they can be improved and also the flavours aren't all amazing.

I bought these for my godmother for mother's day. She was very pleased. Delicious chocolates.

Like other reviewers I had a minor issue with chocolates sticking to the corrugated paper sheet on top of them, but it only affected two of the chocolates and the rest were perfect. Both affected choc's were the same Salted Caramel type with a nibbed caramel topping which had obviously gone sticky in transit. As others have mentioned the packaging is attractive but it isn't airtight, there's no plastic wrap around the tray, so ambient humidity is going to affect the contents and Harris & James need to rethink this. I hate plastic wrap over everything too usually but there are eco-alternatives and this is a foodstuff after all and not a plastic toy of some sort.That minor issue aside (only two chocolates slightly affected) the rest is all good and these are a delightful looking box of chocolates and most of the flavours are delightful too. There's enough variation in the box to be interesting but none of them really stood out as that exciting. I've had Harris & James chocolate in bar form and their chocolate does have it's own character, often quite distinctive, but although this box of chocolates is high quality it plays things a bit safe. They're lovely choc's but a few more adventurous varieties would have improved things, as would an airtight box.
