Definitely looks fake in person. No issues there. I honestly thought it was metal but it's rubber or flexible plastic. The pen portion of it writes like a normal pen, not gel or fine point.

I hate it when stuff like this is marketed just for teens or kids. I'm a writer, and the pen I use is usually reflective of the day's mood and subject. I have an alabaster pen for my high class stuff, and a Monet pen for the moody deep times, etc. This sword is for writing about empowerment and rights, and so forth. If you know, or have a writer in your family, this would make a great gift. It's wonderfully made, and the price is crazy cheap in this economy. It's an awesome way to say I know you're a writer and I support that. Which is the greatest thing you can say to a writer. If you're a teacher, this would be great for a creative writing class.
