Cangshan RAINIER Series 8-Piece Knife Block Set, German Steel, Bamboo Block, Black

The first thing I have to mention is the knives are top-quality. The handles are comfortable to hold, and secure in the hand. The blades are extremely sharp and made of high quality blade steel. The design of the blades makes them practical in the kitchen for just about anything. I've been using the bread knife daily, cutting home made breads. I also like that the kit included a life steel with a matching handle. I've already put the steel sharpener to use with some old knives we have, and it works very well. Once of my favorite features is the scissors included. They are very well designed, ad can be taken apart instantly for cleaning and sanitizing. The scissors are shaped perfectly for cutting poultry, and can cut through bones when needed. The scissors also have a bottle opener built in, along with teeth for opening stubborn jar ids, and pry levers (which double as a screw driver in a pick) included. The larger blades are shaped to take on heavy duty cutting jobs, while the smallest knife works great and is easy to get keep a solid grip on when cutting harder things. Everything about this knife set is well designed and made to a very high standard. I'm very impressed with it. It's the kind of thin that would make an awesome wedding gift, or gift for someone moving into their first home. I'll be using these daily. We rarely eat anywhere other than at home, and cook just about everything "from scratch", so it's important to us to have high quality kitchen tools. This set will fit in great here, and get a ton of use.

Prior to acquiring these Cangshan RANIER series knives, I'd not heard of this brand. The knife set arrived in a factory sealed box, ensuring the product is new/un-used. The finish is exceptional... a work of art, very smooth and pleasant to hold in one's hand. The knives are hefty and well balanced. The edge is ridiculously sharp. The included bamboo block is high quality and by no means seems to be an "after-thought". The full tang design ensures a long service life. The sheer's moving mechanism is butter smooth. Some kitchen purchases are a "product", others are an heirloom - this knife set falls into the latter category and I'm excited they are part of my home.

These are high quality sharp knives that come in an attractive holder. Also, very much appreciate the inclusion of scissors. The one star down is for the pricing. There's currently a 20% "coupon" which to me means these are 20% overpriced. Drop the price 20% (from the current $230) and these earn five stars.

Quality, quality, quality! This knife set if gorgeous. It was packaged so nicely. The knives are a made from German steel with sleek black handles. They have a nice weight to them and are nicely balanced. The handles feel very comfortable in your hand and are easy to use. The sharpness is next level, truly I was nervous using them. The set includes a perfect variety of knives for all your cooking needs. The set comes with a beautiful bamboo wood block. I love that the set also, includes kitchen scissors and a sharpener. I would definitely buy this set again. It’s a great value for the money.

This Cangshan RAINIER Series 8-Piece Knife Block Set is a really sharp looking set. The weight of each piece is perfect. They feel comfortable in my hands and are really easy to handle, even when my joint pain is flaring up. Out of all of my favorite kitchen tools these definitely make the cut!

Having many name-brand and well known expensive knives, this set absolutely surpassed my expectations beyond imaginable. Beyond being gorgeous, having so many pieces and being a questionably low price, these knives feel so great when using them in the kitchen. They have the perfect balance, are substantial and highly-polished/well finished. They are extremely sharp out of the box and they are tuned to precision. What an absolutely wonderful set. I am still in awe after using these for the last month.

These knives come razor sharp. Really well balanced and comfortable to use. The knife market is pretty competitive and I only docked a star for price. At around 230$ at time of my review I feel it’s a little pricey. But time will tell if I’m wrong and these outlast my other knife sets.I love the shape of the handles they are so comfortable for me personally. Although smooth they don’t get slippery.The block is a little bigger than I’m used to but it helps make a statement of sorts sitting in your kitchen area. Would easily make a great gift or like me a new set for yourself to enjoy.Hope this helps

I needed to replace my knife set and this one was perfect! The knives are soooo sharp! I love it when you can cut a tomato like it's butter! The handles feel so great in your hand. I love a knife that has a nice weight. I haven't used them long enough to know how far they will go without being sharpened. It would have been nice if the block would have come with built in sharpeners for every time you remove the knife. It did come with a sharpener to get the big burrs off, though. The scissors are absolutely amazing too! They have a bottle opener built into them. We threw out our old knives for these. They are really nice!
