I have other scrims and I’ve had issues with the weight being too heavy or the scrim having too light weight of a frame and bending. However, this one seems to take care of both issues.First, everything arrived in a nice zippered bag. The scrim frame folds down and when you open it, it locks in place with two buttons. The scrim simply slips over the four corners of the frame. This is a huge time saver! I have some that require using hook and loop tape and take forever to get straight and into place. You also can attach one or two baby pins to either attach the scrim to a stand or to hold it (use the pins like handles). The scrim is not at all heavy for an assistant to hold.The kit comes with a diffusion panel and a combination silver and white reflector. I mainly got this for the diffusion panel, but I will probably use the reflectors as this is such an easy setup. Everything is well sewn and has good quality materials. It is very portable and you can even fit a small light stand in the bag. I actually think I would prefer toting this setup over having a round diffuser and light stand. The setup size is great at 30” x 30”.The frame is good quality and I believe will last a long time. Please note that if you are going to use this with a stand, you will need a swivel head mounting adapter or some way of attaching a 5/8” pin. You could probably also use grip clamps. I had to dig through my connectors because 5/8” is not something I regularly have out.The diffusion quality of the scrim is great. I used it to photograph food and it worked nicely. Light coming through the diffuser is even.Tear down is as simple as setting up. One easy way to set up is to get the frame to the “almost open” point. Then add the light modifier before completely locking the frame in place. This makes the entire process very easy and very smooth.I would definitely recommend this product and give it five stars.

This is a highly functional 30" x 30" scrim with:> strong but light weight frame that unfolds and re-folds easily, similar to folding table legs> white transparent diffusion panel> silver reflector reversible to white diffusion panel> two 5/8" baby pin stud handles that attach to the scrim (one for hand held operation, one for attaching to a light stand)> zippered carrying bagThe frame is admirably strong and easy to assemble with diffusion panels that pop on easily with the use of elastic that go over the 4 corners of the scrim, sort of like a sheet reinforcement that folds over the corners of a mattress.Please note that you have to attach the 5/8" baby pin handle and take it off each time you use the scrim, if you intend to put it away in the carry bag. If you are just leaving it on a stand, that's not going to be a problem.This is a very strong but light weight and functional scrim for light diffusion in any studio lighting setup.

The scrim kit is very simple to use and easy to set up. It's basically like setting up a folding table. You push the edges out and you put the scrim over the corners. It's actually easier to put the scrim on first and then expand it but either way, very simple and not too hard to set up. However, it's not as portable as I would like because the pin attaches with a bolt and if you want to pack it away, then you would need to have the hex key on hand to remove the pin. You can't fold this down and pack it into the bag without removing the pin first. Also, since the bag only has one zipper, you can't really pack it with the pin sticking out the side either.As for usage, the scrim makes it easy to diffuse light by mounting it to a stand vs using a floppy 5in1 reflector. I can bring this up high and diffuse the ceiling lights, or I can use it to block off lights too. I wish it came with more scrims though. More options would be amazing.

I like this scrim kit. Its really just the frame, diffusion paper, reflector, and baby pin connector along with a pretty nice protective bag. The bag is pretty heavy duty canvas with a fitted compartment for the frame in the center. The scrim can be assembled in about a minute, as always, one should install the corners of the paper while partially collapsed so as to not stress the the elastic corners. I think the paper and reflector should last a good while, the paper is easy to rip so be careful while its up. The paper diffuses very well, with my larger COB light behind it, it diffuses it to a nice star pattern and none of the hard edges remain. I'm also happy to see that it allows for lots of light to pass through, it doesn't block more than 15-20% so this should be pretty good to use outdoors or for non-direct lighting. I am yet to use the reflector but I'm certain it'll be fine since the material is highly reflective and quite large. All in all, I'm happy with this kit, I wish it came with a 1/8 or 1/4" screw kit but the baby pin system is better for this type of reflector/diffuser anyway so that doesn't bother me. I think this is a good deal considering how expensive this type of setup can cost from a more established brand. The only weak point would be the elastic corners but they seem better constructed than some of Neewers stuff so it should be fine.

The list price might seems a bit high compared to other similar light modifier on Amazon at a glance, but this is not in the same class as the cheap light modifier. The construction is much stronger and reliable for pro use day in and day out, it is also light weight enough for longer period hand holding with the included handle. It also come with the handle for attaching to light stand. These handle are hidden in the inner pocket of the carry bag. Combination of strength, lightweight and easy to transport is what worth the list price.
