Bongers Massage Tool - Assorted colors

I have ceased purchasing this item, because I purchased my first pair of Bongers around 25 years ago or whenever it was when they first appeared on the market, from a massage shop in Neils Yard Convent Garden London....it WAS a great product BACK THEN.... which cost around £2.99 per bonger and I used them daily for around 10 years before eventually (and understandably) the metal stems broke through fair wear and tear. Since the first set broke, I have purchased several sets of your product (but now refuse to continue doing this!) because either the stem breaks or the ball comes off, after less than a couple of months of daily use, and this is because the quality of the product has diminished CONSIDERABLY, in spite of the price having increased around SIX TIMES!!!! I could justify the fact of reducing the quality of your product, to oblige clients regularly to repurchase it, IF you had maintained the same original price, but since you have increased the price FAR BEYOND inflation rates, to have additionally MASSIVELY REDUCED the quality of materials and construction, so they rapidly break, can only be classified as "LEGAL THEFT!". Either return to the original price so people can afford to replace the item after it rapidly breaks, or return to its original durable quality. If you doubt my analysis then check amazon reader reports!!! If you fail to remedy this problem I shall use my skills as a professional author and journalist to warn others about your currently " rip- off" product as it would require only a microscopically small increase in your current production costs to return to the quality of materials/construction that you used to provide. You are taking advantage of peoples stress and pain by obliging desperate customers to repurchase your disgustingly cheaply made product at a RIDICULOUSLY high price! STOP CHEATING PEOPLE!! I have used Bongers for over 25 years... the "rubber" does wear out and in that time this is only the 3d pair I have owned so they last about 12+ years. I love them and am thankful for them as they untighten especially my shoulders when I have no other help. Definitely cheaper than a massage therapist but especially useful when one is not around. It was my massage therapist who 25 years ago both told me about them and used them in her practice on me.

Had some years ago and have been looking for new ones for a long time. I take one to work with me. Really helps relieve the muscle soreness in the shoulders.

Update: The metal shaft broke a couple days later. I admit that I'm rough with them so I'm keeping the rating high because they should be a great value for most people. I simply epoxy'd the ball onto a thick drumstick and all is good. I suppose now I can make my own for life! The ball is nothing more than a soft athletic play ball (foam-based) you can find in a sporting goods store if you want to make your own.Original Post:I'm a 35 year old athletic male. I have some sort of myofascial issues along my spine, across my shoulders, and into the base of the neck. I'm so tight at times it seems like a hard shell of stuck tissue layers. Anyways, these Bongers work great to beat on my back (whipping around the side of my body) and break up some of the tissue. The problem is they aren't really built for rough use like I use them and the balls went soaring off into the air after about 20 min of use. This is fine though as I wasn't expecting them to be robust enough for me... I simply fixed them with some epoxy and they seem to be holding up pretty well so far. It's a great product for $20 and I would recommend them to others. I've used many different self-massagers for my problems and this is definitely in my daily bag of tricks. There is something about the percussive action that really helps. But I hope that the company looks into some other robust methods to build them in the future for people that really like to hit themselves hard!

It did work to help relax muscles. Easy to use and kinda fun.

I recently lost my bonger & it made me realize how much i rely on it to elevate my back pain & disinagrate my knots !I use it differently though, I lay on the ground & using the handle I'm able to move the ball around , stopping on any tight area & it just seeks out any knots & with the weight of my body deep ,it literally crushes the knots! Once one area loosens up, it then Moves all on its own to the next problem area & so on! Nothing else works as well, in fact In the time it's taken me to replace my bonger I have had 4 deep tissue massages & left disappointed & without the relief I always get with my bonger! (Works great on any sore or tight area of the body)
