Analog Magnetic Stirrer Heating Mantle 1000ml, 100~1400rpm, 350W, Max 450℃(842℉)

I give this 5 stars for the price and the fact that it seems solid, stirring works, and temp seems as controllable as the heating mantles I’ve used in my lab class (although, that’s not saying much). So far I’ve only done a test run with water (simple distillation) and it got 500 mL of water in a 1000 mL rbf up to 100 degrees C in about 15 minutes. From what I can tell so far this is probably one of the better units for the price.

Temperature control not very accurate. Stirring control not strong

Best thing about this product is the consistency of the temperature. Did a great job maintaining the temp.

I have used the mantle primarily for heating to distill ethanol and I could not be happier at it's performance. I did test the stirring capability and it seemed to work fine. I highly recommend this product.

Heating does not work. Stirring was OK. Will return and buy another one.UPDATE: I would not wait for the new one so I decided to give it a try and fix it. I found the workmanship inside the unit pretty poor (I work in Electronic Design and I know when something is manufactured kind of poorly). I found two things wrong. First there was a wire loose from a connector. Second one of the wires from the dials to "control" the temperature was shorting to the metal frame basically shutting the heater down.The heat control is fairly poor but its OK for what I need. Maybe I will replace the control board some time in the future.

Be advised, the labels for the heat and speed controller are reversed.
