Beneficial In-Home Care Equipment
An extremely effective, efficient & priceless purchase for families providing in-home healthcare to a loved one. It is safe for both the 'immobilized patient' & Care-provider. Clear instructions for assembly (lift arrived in 3 parts; assembled by one family member in 45 minutes) & use were included within the crated box. When assembled, the lift maneuvers within the confines of most standard home doorways & halls; thick-pile floor rugs increase the difficulty in moving the patient from room to room, since this lift does not have motorized wheels & Caregiver 'push/pull' required to move lift. Depending upon weight of patient, or strength, age, height of careprovider, this lift may require 1 or 2 persons to safely move patient. A 'lift sling' is an essential addition to the lift & was included in purchase price. A second lift-sling was purchased as 'standby' during cleaning/drying process of original sling. Lift also came with 2 batteries & a battery charger. One battery, in our experience, can lift the patient at least 3-4 times per day, for a week without loosing lift power or requiring a re-charge; although the recommendation is to rotate between batteries daily. At this time, we've used the lift for 2 months & consider it a blessing: not only does the lift decrease the risk of patient falls/injury during transfers or Caregiver back injury; but, it decreases the stress & emotional friction that develop between the Caregiver & Patient's expectation of what they 'can or cannot do' any longer. When not in use, the lift is comfortably stored in our small walk-in closet.

Sturdy and not audible when operating
The price is a bit steep but the machine has no flaws. It rolls very easily on any hard surface (exclude carpet, that is not the fault of the machine). Solid built to perform the task as intended. Top reach is 72" at the bottom of the sling hangers. I appreciate the emergency stop and the no power lowering feature. This model has a power spreader to operate the legs, which is very useful especially for a maneuvering situation around a bed or chair. Yep, you guessed it, exactly as advertised.

Device is all that it was advertised
The lift is performing well and is living up to all expectations. So much easier to use than a manual lift and allows both hands to assist guiding our loved one into his chair or bed. We did have some issues with shipping by XPO including delays, severe package damage, and some cosmetic damage to the lift itself that we are still waiting to hear back about. With as badly damaged as the container was, in order for the lift to arrive intact and in working order is a testimony to the way the packing was designed. I would definitely recommend this lift to anyone in need, (just try not to use XPO shipping).

Not For Use On Carpet
If you plan to use this lift on medium pile carpet and the person you intend to transfer weighs more than 100 pounds and you don't want to rip up your carpet DO NOT BUY IT. I am a big strong guy and it is all I can do to turn the model 450 on medium pile carpet.

Best thing we ever bought for Mom's care
Best thing we ever bought for Mom's care. It's allowed us to keep her at home with us, even as she has lost all ability to move or sit up. One caveat: It must be used on a hard linoleum floor. We had to remove the bedroom carpet and put down industrial strength linoleum to get best results, but it has been worth it. Just plan to figure in the cost of the flooring in the price. Very reliable and easy to use. A great product.
