I do believe the author mostly does a good job of explaining the subjects
I really believe this book is aimed at such a wide group of ages. I appreciate the style the information is given, but I think the range of subjects it so broad in age. From beginner information about puberty to the not so beginner information about first visit to a gynecologist. Speaks of healthy eating and goes into eating disorders. Talks about stress and about abusing drugs. While it does it very eloquently from an adult's point of view, my daughter being 9 doesn't know what getting high means. I understand that this conversation needs to happen and it will, but when looking for a book about what is happening to her body, I don't believe I need to cover what getting high exactly means (which it doesn't, just expects it's reader to know what getting high is). I know many will tell me I am living in a bubble, and maybe that is true, but she already has so many concerns about growing up and the changes happening. I don't need to give her more to worry about before she is ready to know about. I do believe the author mostly does a good job of explaining the subjects, but the subjects are broad for a specific age group.

Short answer ... good source for more conversation!!
We are still reading it, but so far (more than half way) it is a good additional source for young girls/tweens. I say additional source because it has brought up additional questions and conversations, but I believe those important questions and conversations need to be answered by a trusted, loving source (ie. parent, auntie, grandma, special family friends, etc).

For the price buy it!!
This book is perfect for my 10yr old I love that it has info on hygiene, health, food, girl drama and family I bought the with the "it's so amazing" book together my daughter will have detailed info and girly info. I gave this book 4 stars cause I had hoped it would be a little more detailed in some areas so I'm glad I got a back up book. But over all cute book I think my kid will like it.

I ordered this book for my eleven year old granddaughter ...
I ordered this book for my eleven year old granddaughter, to make the conversation about the changes she should expect a little easier. It just arrived this weekend so it’s too soon to say much about it. However, I reviewed the chapter headings before I ordered the book and it appears to me that it covers all of the most important topics. She and her mother will be reading the book together.

Great Beginner's Book for Girls
I purchased this book based on the recommendation of one of my BFFs. Our daughter was very excited when the book arrived. She wanted to begin the conversations that would impact her for the rest of her life. The Girl's Body Book is a great manual when you are beginning to teach your daughter about why and when changes occur and how to handle them. Our daughter loved it. There were some areas that I skipped because it didn't pertain to our household; yet even skipping those the overall book was very well written.

It's full of valuable information and it answers questions that a girl may not feel comfortable talking about
This book it an absolute must have for parents with daughters, to prepare them for puberty. I brought it for my 10 year old. It's full of valuable information and it answers questions that a girl may not feel comfortable talking about. It's a great icebreaker and communication starter for those very sensitive subjects. I read it from cover to cover to make sure it didn't cross the line. It directs the child to talk to mom, doctor or other trusted adult about certain topics. I give it an A***

Great book for OLDER girls
I bought this for my 6-year old based on reviews. It is a really great, easy to read and informative book. It is not dumbed down in any way, but manages to have a voice that a young girl can understand. That said, it is way too much for my 6-year old. It is absolutely more for a 10-12 year old, a girl on the verge of getting her period/boobs/etc. My daugther isnt even aware yet or asking the questions that this book answers, so I am just going to keep it aside until she is ready. Still, I am glad I ordered it, I just wish I had waited a few years!

Great Book for a Young Girl
My eight year is loving this book. I read it first before letting her read it and felt there was only a few things that she didn't apply yet to her but she still read the whole book and we talked about things in the book that she questioned and didn't understand. All in all its a great beginner book and the next book we get will explain about babies as this book only talks about the girls body and the changes coming. Excellent book. As a side note, the previous reviews I read before I purchased the book was excellent and is really helpful in making the decision exactly what book to get.

very helpful
I got this book to help my daughter a while ago (actually over a year ago now) who is currently 10 so she could try and understand the changes her body is and will be going through in the future. It was definitely a good start. It has been written in a way that meant I could have a less embarrassing (and not just for her) way of covering some of the topics so she could ask questions plus helping her realise she wasn't odd, which she definitely feels she is at the moment being almost twice the height and is more advanced than most of her friends and already having a body that (in her mind atleast) belonged to someone else as it seemed to change overnight. No amount of talking things through with mum seemed to help that transition into becoming a grown-up, especially when her mind was that of a little girl (which in pretty much every way except physically she still is).It is written with humour, but gets the point across in a memorable way. The illustrations are a reflection of this aswell and help to alleviate what could be some slightly awkward moments for us both. There is also a brief section on boys/siblings and why/what changes they go through (she found this rather hysterical especially as she has a 'really annoying brother' - her words lol). But as the book is for girls that is its focus.I am so pleased I picked it.

Pitches it just right
Have recommended this to many friends . Hits all the right notes without inappropriate information. Bought for my daughter when she was 9 and I was happy for her to read everything in it. She dips in and out of it and asks questions if needed. Happy to talk about all of it with her but it made it less daunting for her than the "we need to talk about things" conversation. Other books go in to detail she is not ready for.

User Friendly
This is a great book to share with your daughter or let her go and read it herself. Facts are explained in an easy but fun way. Good for getting a conversation started and for general information.
