This is what you want for Pu Ehr tea!
This is the shnizzle. Perfectly fermented and is the traditional brew, reserved for the Emperor. Break off a quarter for two cups and 1/2 for a pot. Love it! Been drinking it since 2017. Higher in caffeine than most other teas at a price that doesn't break the bank. It's my morning go to. I had a question and received a super prompt and friendly response from the manager himself, who then sent me some samples of other products they carry for free. I wouldn't mind meeting him someday.

Great Puerh!
Good taste, smells like soil, and not fishy at . Good value for the money, and last long

Pretty nice puerh tea
Unexpectedly good puer, rich taste, I guess the storage conditions in bamboo did the trick. This is not an ideal tea, but for this price it is probably the one of the best you can find on Amazon

"Rinse" and then steep briefly
*Please read the additional note added at the bottom, since the first review*Initial Review:I've had roughly half a dozen different Pu'erh teas, so I'm neither new to Pu'erh nor an expert. This is so unpleasant that I almost wonder if it's turned bad or something. I love the earthy notes of Pu'erh teas, but this tea just tastes foul. The packaging is nice, and I got it quick, but the taste is remarkably unpleasant. I tried two cakes of it (each about 10g), and both had this problem. This tea had come up as one of the first Pu'erhs in my search. And it had many good ratings, so I thought it might be good. But now I'm wondering if the company has gamed the ratings.I also recently got the "Yunnan Longrun Pu-erh Tea Cake-Caiwei (Year 2012,Fermented, 200g)" from Amazon, which was also delivered quickly. It's a bit more expensive at $20 (as of this writing), but way way better. Maybe try that instead.*update, about a month later*I returned to this tea and tried it again, just for grins. This time I tried rinsing it twice, and a bit longer than I'd rinsed it last time. By "rinsing" I mean that I steeped it twice (about 5 seconds each time, with fresh boiling water), throwing out the water each time. After the rinsing, with a very brief steeping time of just about 8 seconds, the tea wasn't too bad. The "off" flavor I'd tasted before became more of a flavor rather than tasting like it'd spoiled. This doesn't seem like a very high quality tea, but for the price it's not so bad. Just be sure to rinse it and steep it for a very short time. Repeated steepings are good, too (meaning steeping the same tea leaves again, with fresh boiling water, to make additional cups).

So bad not even sure I should put it in my compost pile.
This is the most horrible tasting tea. It smells disgusting and is undrinkable. The instructions say to toss out the first batch and then steep again. I had to toss the second batch also. Not even sure this is tea.

Strong Fermented Tea with unexpected funky flavors
Jinlong Tea Factory Puer in bambooPresentation is neat - the cakes are easy to measure, each is about 10g, and able to be broken in half for 5g chunks. The leaves are pretty shredded, so it doesn't matter if you break it down the middle. The price is good.I've come back to this tea six or more times over the past half year-> here are notes from the most recent session.Ratio: 1g tea to 15ml of water Brewing method: don't use gaiwan because of small size of tea particles - a pot is best. Water: 200-205 F Rinse: 15-20 seconds, until bubbles stop. This tea is pretty tightly packed.First Brew: 7 seconds - burnt wood, wet hay, cedar, loam, full-bodied mouthfeel, lingering aftertaste of charred cedar. Color is a very strong dark red.Second Brew: 8 seconds - More of the same, less charcoal/burntThird Brew: 10 seconds - clear tobacco smell, hints of caramel, burnt sugar, cedar still present, a bit of seaweed, metallic copper flavor on the finishFourth Brew: 12 seconds - continued smell of burnt brown sugar and cedar (nutmeg?), taste is notably lighter, more spicy flavor: oregano, cedar, nori(seaweed), savory. Stronger coppery metal on the finish (i want to stop drinking here because of this).Fifth and last brew: 30 seconds - still lighter flavors - seaweed broth, cedar, saltiness, mineral flavor. Metalic finish is still there.Overall: 3/5 - not a daily drinker but definitely a fun experience and a funky tea!
