Time and temperature make the difference
vacuum sealing meat with a marinade over time and then heating in a controlled water bath can bring out a really tender, flavorful product.Time and temperature with the cooking are important.

Can be a bit finicky
It draws a decent bit of power, so be prepared if you have it on for multiple days on end your bills will def show it since 1000W is a decent whack of powerUsing it ain't difficult at all once you read the instructions, and as long as you have a pot to cook the food in, it's a breeze. The meats are super tender and taste great when ya slap em in, plus you can cook a bunch of other things w it, like eggs. Granted you have to be sure the temps you're using are compatible w the plastic bags the food is held in since they can degrade at higher temps

Saved Christmas Dinner
This is my first sous vide cooker, so I’m not really sure about what features I should be reviewing, but I can’t say that this sous vide cooker saved my Christmas dinner. My stove broke and my new one hasn’t been installed yet and when I bought my spiral ham, I assumed it would fit in my Instant Pot, NuWave oven, or one of my other slow cookers but it was way too large for any of them. After some time trying everything in the kitchen I could think of except carving up my ham, I remembered that I had this sous vide cooker and a HUGE heirloom quality heavy aluminum soup pot. So I put the ham into a turkey oven roasting bag along with some canned pineapple and spices and set this cooker for 199• for 3 hours (manually) and the huge ham cooked perfectly. I didn’t have time to set up the app but it was so easy to use manually that I may just stick with that method permanently. I did read other reviews that said there was a smell coming from the cooker in the first use but I didn’t experience that at all. Mine had no smell whatsoever. Setting the temperature and time was self explanatory pretty much, and it was easy to clean. I am concerned with the fact you can’t remove the bottom to clean the inside the metal housing because a maraschino cherry did fall out of the bag when I basted the ham and clouded the water. Therefore, the water that flowed through the souse vide cooker had cherry in it that you can’t clean out from the heating element rates. Other than that this cooker made a moist and flavorful (large) ham that was fall-off-the-bone tender. I am so impressed with the outcome of my ham that I am eager to try new ways to use this cooker, especially with my vacuum sealer. The only drawback was the price. When I got mine it was priced well over $100, which I feel was too high, based on my very limited knowledge about souse vide cookers and cooking. Now the price has come down to $79 which seems more in line with what I would be comfortable with.

Ran for 30 min then circulator died and overheated
Seemed like a quality device but after 30 min it started making a terrible grinding noise and the circulation pump/fan was barely turning. It then kept increasing temp above set point and wouldn't stop until turned off. I tried removing the cover and checking attachment of the fan as instructed by the manual but it was secure on the shaft and did not make a difference.

Works but had some hiccups
I have cooked in Sous-Vide or with immersion circulators for many years now. My first and primary immersion circulator is by a much more renowned and expensive brand. Compared to my previous unit, this one is much larger and harder to store away in a drawer. While this will no doubt get the job done, I have a few concerns which is why I am only able to give it four stars. The first time I ran it, it gave off a foul smell that alarmed me. It was as if something was burning. It went away shortly though and I never figured out what caused it. The Tuya app didn't have any trouble with pairing it. But I did notice serious usability issues on the iOS app. I am presenting some screenshots as example. But you can see that the text is not readable at all. So this definitely has some issues that could be ironed out and others that you may neglect if you absolutely must have an immersion circulator at this price point.Another feature that I thought would have been great but this can't do is simply act as a circulator without heating. This could allow you to circulate chilled water to either bring the temperature down of drinks or other food items or to keep something at a consistently cold temperature for a while. (this is something that some competitors allow)

Functions identically to my Inkbird circulator
I've been doing sous vide cooking for a few years now. I can't imagine not having one now. They cook steak and chicken perfectly. You can speed thaw frozen foods or rapidly cool cans of beer or coke. Once you know how they work, they are super easy to use. This works as well as Inkbird. Very quiet operation. Powerful circulation of water. WiFi connectivity works well. Very reasonable price. Regardless of which brand you choose, they have budget models such as this one that work just as well as something like an Anova unitHighly recommend
