Unique product, great for vegans
Snail mucin is all the rage right now and has been on the Kbeauty scene for quite some time. I've used it and have seen great results from it, but I hate how it's sourced. This vegan snail mucin is amazing... it really helps to hydrate my skin and give it a nice glow. Helps with firming as well. The consistency is similar to that of traditional snail mucin, but it's nice knowing that this is a more ethical product. Great for the price, too. I would highly recommend this!

THE FACE SHOP 8 Peptide Moisturizer, Vegan Mucin for Nourishing & Firming, Moisturizing Cream
I was really excited to try vegan snail mucin, but it was not as moisturizing as I'd hoped. I’ve used it several times at night to try it out, but each morning, my skin has been noticeably drier than with my usual night cream. I’ve had no adverse reaction, and I like the formula, so I’ll hold on to it and try again in the summer when my skin doesn't require as much supplemental hydration.

Vegan Mucin Peptide Cream: A Perfect Skincare Alternative with Suprising Results To Start
As someone who lived in Korea, I’m no stranger to snail mucin, which is a staple in many skincare routines there. However, I’ve always been hesitant about using snail-derived products on my skin. When I saw The Face Shop’s Alltimate Vegan Mucin Peptide 8 Cream, I was intrigued by the idea of a vegan alternative to snail mucin—derived from wild yam roots instead of snails. The Face Shop is known for offering natural skincare products at affordable prices, and this cream fits that description perfectly. It promises firming, lifting, and nourishment, all while being gentle enough for sensitive skin. I was excited to try it, especially since it’s paired with a complementary serum in the same line.A few days before the products arrived, I accidentally spilled boiling water on my hand. Thankfully, I treated it quickly and prevented blistering, but 5–6 days later, my skin started peeling like it would after a bad sunburn—right around the time the moisturizer and serum showed up in the mail. While applying the cream to my face, I thought, "Why not test it on my hand?"WOW. The results were noticeable. The peeling seemed to slow down, and the top layer of my skin felt moisturized and appeared healthier. It provided a soothing effect with no irritation or negative reaction. I’ll continue to apply it as my hand heals.I was equally satisfied with using it as intended on my face. At first, I was unsure about the slightly stringy texture, but the cream smooths on easily, absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin soft, hydrated, and refreshed. It also comes with a small spatula to help maintain hygienic application and prevent cross-contamination.I’m thrilled with this vegan alternative, especially knowing it’s made with wild yam mucin. I’m excited to see the long-term benefits. I will try to update again once I've had more time with the products.

Excellent snail alternative 🐌
I confess that I am a huge fan of Korean Snail Mucin and use it on a regular basis, but this vegan K Beauty alternative by The Face Shop is really good stuff. It's a decadent, deeply rich cream that feels beautiful to the touch and on my face. It doesn't feel any different than than what a real snail mucin cream feels like. It has the same somewhat stringy thick texture and if you didn't know it was Yam based you almost really couldn't tell the difference between the two. It's fragrance free (huge plus) and has an outstanding ingredients list, which is on the box in both Korean and English, including Yam Mucin, Peptides, Niacinamide and lots of other beneficial stuff. It left my face soft, dewy, and fairly well moisturized. I have dry sensitive skin and it did a good job of moisturizing but not as well as my regular go to. I like this product very much and will use it. I also like the attractive simple clean look of the packaging. It seems like it could be used by most skin types. I absolutely recommend itALWAYS do a patch test 24 hours before using any new skin care products

Excellent mucin option
Like a lot of other people, the idea of snail mucin is off-putting to me. I kept hearing about how great snail mucin is, but just didn't want to try it, so I was very happy to find this vegan option from The Face Shop, which is made from yams instead of snails. I have to say this cream feels wonderful. It goes on so slick and smooth and provides so much moisture -- I can understand why it is called "glass skin." This cream has the same stringy texture as snail mucin, which takes a little getting used to. I say that only because I made a mess with it and got strings of moisturizer on my shirt collar (it washed out easily). But after using it just a few times I got the hang of using it cleanly.I love the other ingredients in this face cream; in addition to the yam mucin, there are peptides and niacinamide for plumpness and softness. The cream is fragrance free and feels so smooth and luxurious. I love covering my face with hyaluronic acid serum, then topping it off with the cream. This combination is so hydrating and plumping. I am a fan of Korean skincare in general, and using this "glass skin" vegan mucin is a wonderful experience. My skin loves it.

Dewy Skin Benefits Without the Snails
Okay, so I was a little skeptical about a vegan alternative to snail mucin, but this cream really surprised me in the best way. The texture is… let’s call it unique—thick, stringy, and a little sticky at first. But once it’s on, it absorbs so nicely, leaving my skin soft, dewy, and hydrated without any greasiness. I really appreciate that it’s fragrance-free, and it even comes with a little spatula to keep things hygienic.I've tried it for a few weeks now, and I really love how my skin feels. My skin seems plumper, and more hydrated, my pores seem to appear smaller and not stressed. That said, the slimy texture every day isn’t my favorite part of the experience, but once it’s on, you don’t notice it anymore, and it doesn't get in the way of makeup after the fact. It’s moisturizing enough for my sensitive, dry skin without agitation. I feel like it’s a great vegan option for anyone looking to skip the snails but keep the glow.
