A couple things to know: there are cheap, lower cost, mid-range, and high quality knives. This set falls into the upper middle quality range. The knives are all weighted well and offer a variety of options and sizes for what the job requires. The build quality is appropriate to the price. Metal quality is on par with the cost. They are sharp right out of the box, but they WILL require edge maintenance. Handle shape, size, and fit are good. This is a butcher set, it does not come with steak knives and utility knives, you're in the wrong place if that's what you seek. Update: after some use, was satisfied enough to purchase another set for a family member. Pretty solid knife set.

These knives seem to be of good quality, sharp right out of the box and they feel good in my hand. I like the weight of them, and they look good. My wife likes them too!

It is well made. Solid. Not heavy, feels good in hand. Very very sharp, cuts like butter. Comes in leather pouch. Each knive double wrapped w/plastic tip protections. Comparing with all the expensive kitchen knives I‘ve used, this set stands out. Price is reasonable. Love it. These will make my cutting jobs effortless. Don’t ever forget how sharp they are!

Heavy duty set. Very sharp cutting edges on all the knives and cleavers. Haven’t butchered anything yet but plan on cutting and chopping whole chickens and cow sections. Nice heavy duty case as well. Don’t believe the case wrap is leather though but it seems like it will hold up well. Heavy material.

This set is real sharp and appears to hold a good edge. We have not used them extensively, but we have purchased 3 sets. One as a gift, one for ourselves and an accident we also gifted. Everyone has used them to some extent and all of us liked them. The leather roll is a nice touch and is thicker than I imagined when we ordered. The handles are of good quality and the overall look and feel is high on the scale. Great set for those who butcher their own meat and/or buy bulk and cut down to portions.

These were $99. When I purchased them. Love the feel while using. Super sharp right out of the package. Beautiful wood handles. (I use a food safe mineral oil to keep the handle looking good) I use for meat, fish, vegetables etc. they stay sharp and cut with ease. I would and have recommended these knives

Bought these to go into new kitchen they just look beautiful - and if you are going to cut your fingers, you might as well do it in style. They also seem well made and are sharp as anything.

Great set of knives! Great value! Bought this set for an aspiring chef and he loves them. They are nicely weighted, well made and he really likes the finish. They are sharp right out of the case and cut through everything. The carrying case is very handy to store the set and keep sharp knives secure. We did have an issue with the case, contacted Hoshanho, and it was resolved quickly and with little effort on my part. Amazing customer service! Will definitely look at other knives or knife sets from them!
