An extensive and exhaustive companion to the art, lore, development, and history of BOTW
As a fan of the previous Dark Horse Legend of Zelda books - Hyrule Historia, Arts & Artifacts, and Zelda Encyclopedia, I was eagerly awaiting this next installment that was entirely focused on the latest entry in The Legend of Zelda franchise: Breath of the Wild.Dark Horse once again does not disappoint, with this beautiful hardcover book featuring 424 large full color pages jam-packed with artwork, design sketches, maps, diagrams, tables, charts, and everything you could possibly want to know about this amazing game. The book is massive and has a nice weight to it, it's even larger than the Arts & Artifacts book (the largest of the three published before it).It contains a huge amount of artwork, not only from promotional material but of every single character you run into in the game with so much detail and quality given to every page. This book is an absolute steal for it's price and is worth it purely as an art-book alone. It is however not merely an art book but also serves multiple functions. It goes into the design philosophy behind the game, what inspired the team to make it, and has numerous full page interviews with the team discussing their design choices for Breath of The Wild.It doesn't stop there. Zelda Lore buffs will be delighted to know there's a huge section given over to the background and history of The Breath of The Wild's world including independent history of each race and the preparation and fight against Calamity Ganon both in the past and in the modern age, complete with maps illustrating battle plans and movements, and even specific entries detailing the history behind the multitude of ancient ruins dotting Hyrule.Character buffs also have a huge amount to love here, with full color illustrations of every main character and detailed background info on many of them and their race.Let's not forget Items and Monsters, with several pages given over to showcase the wide breadth of Breath of the Wild's weapons and armor sets, as well as the multitude of enemies you will have to fight with them, but not just enemies, it also includes the flora and fauna you can come across. With even the additional DLC content given loving detail in this book, there is truly no stone left unturned and if you love Breath of the Wild, this companion book is an absolute treasure to add to your collection and well worth it!Highly recommended!

Absolutely Stunning
The media could not be loaded. Ive been getting back into breath of the wild recently, and decided it might be fun to buy this book !, What I got was far better than I could’ve expected :)The first thing I noticed when receiving this book was the weight. It weighs at least two pounds and is surprisingly thick !, there are so many pages to go through and all of them are crisp, vibrant, and not to mention gorgeous !, It has so much content from Mobs, Animals, The different races within the game, Scenery, Outfits, Weapons (including ones used by enemies), Concepts, Lore, and more stuff !It’s definitely opens your eyes to the amount of care poured into this game, and has given me new enthusiasm for this franchise I love so much. Not only did I buy myself a copy, but also purchased a copy for my cousin and we’ve both been having fun going through this. I’d recommend this to anyone who’s eyeing this, you won’t regret it !

This is one of, if not THE, best art book I've ever gotten
I buy and collect art books from games and movies I like, and plenty of times I'm a little disappointed: it's either too short, not enough rough designs or TOO many with nothing to learn from, or no process images of the work, or it's just full of promo images everyone has already seen. It's kind of slapped on with ideas that never made it through, throw in an interview, and call it a day. And that's...fine, but it can be more, you know? So, naturally I expected some environment designs, some sword sketches, and lore slapped around here and there, and I was happy knowing that. I just wanted to learn how they designed the ruins and forests, and if I could apply it to my art. But I underestimated the power of this brick of a book...It has EVERYTHING AND I LOVE IT.There are drawings of almost every weapon, concept art of everything you interact in the world (including outfits). It is so, so, so detailed. You can TELL so much love went into this book as much as it did on the game. I am genuinely blown away and I haven't even finished reading it. I can say, I've definitely learned a lot already, and it's expanded my mind with creative new ideas or better approaches to my own art and THAT'S what I love about art books. If they fill you with inspiration, they've done their job.Go get this book. If you liked the game, if you want a comprehensive crash course on how much detail people pour into the creation of video games, if you want to learn how to achieve atmospheric drawings or just wanna look at pretty pictures and read a bunch of lore, this book is for you.

Awesome Zelda Artbook!
"The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild", along with the two DLCs, was the very first Zelda series I've ever played and it was so much better than I've expected. And this artbook is just as beautiful and informative as the game is.
