Great griddle - perfect size for multiple burners on the stove top.
I missed having the griddle completely flat when I pre seasoned the 1st time - but it’s still a great pan. Last night we did brats and potatoes and onions which turned out great. The pan is a nice size the also fits on my Webber grill outside. I’ve never had a cast iron pan before and I’m happy we chose he Carbon Steel from Made in. ( the grill press is also really beneficial)

Carbon steel griddle perfect for vegetables and shrimp on grill
This carbon steel griddle fits perfectly on my Weber grill. Of course, I had dreams of making endless smash burgers and it does work great for that. What I'm actually doing with it the most is grilling lots of shrimp and vegetables of all kinds. We've said goodbye to rolls of aluminum foil and little cages and baskets on handles. This griddle has made it easy to cook all those little things that were difficult to handle, perhaps too easy. I've learned how to keep the griddle seasoned with high smoke point oils and this keeps the griddle in great condition and easy to clean off. I can highly recommend this griddle, just be prepared for the new menu demands.

Needs to be seasoned regularly. Premium cooking surface at a premium price.
As far as cooking performance goes, this pan performs excellently. I like to make homemade pita bread as well as homemade pizza. The oven has to be heated to 450° to 500° Fahrenheit. This pan is not as heavy as my square pizza steel. This pan does not take as long to heat as my pizza steel. The biggest downside is this is much more difficult to store, because it is so large, and the handles stick up really high. Also, I feel like I need to season it regularly, after using it to keep it looking good. This works excellently on the barbecue grill, I cannot use my pizza steel on the barbecue grill, because it takes way too long to get hot enough. Figuring out the best place to store this is the most difficult thing about it. I like to use on the barbecue, butI can’t store it there, because it will rust. Because the handles are so deep, I can’t roll it behind the couch against the wall. So, I’m currently storing it in the oven, on the bottom rack, and take it out when I’m cooking other things. There are instructions included with this pan, but they’re not very good. They use and care instructions on the manufacturer website are much better. I’m deducting one star for that. I shouldn’t have to go looking for more information on how to properly take care of a brand new item. If you have a convection oven this pan might not fit, because the fan in the back of the oven decreases the depth of the oven, making it smaller than a normal oven. I can make the pan fit, so that the door will close, if I move the oven rack all the way down to the bottom and then push the rack all the way to the back wall. If trying to cook in the middle of the oven, I pushed the rack against the convection fan, and then set the pan up onto the back edge of the rack, so the pan is actually touching the back wall. The pan is slightly angled now, but that doesn’t interfere with my cooking, because none of my items are liquid. Since the pan is supposed to be preheated before seasoning it, I do put it on my glass cooktop for a few minutes to raise the temperature of the pan while the oven is heating up. It does not require much oil/wax. So the little container that I bought at Amazon should last me a long time. I don’t know if I feel comfortable cooking on this pan on my electric cooktop, because it is so large. I don’t want the heat radiating off of this pan to damage the controls underneath the smooth glass surface. I have an extremely large barbecue grill. This pan does fit on it, and the included smashing tool is heavy, and does a really great job. I do wish the pan had removable covers to go over the handles. But it doesn’t, so I will keep using hot pads. Overall, I wish I had an induction cooktop with huge burner that I could use this on, that would make it more versatile for my needs. If I was choosing between this and a pizza steel to go in my oven, I would choose the pizza steel. Because it stores easier. If I was spending more time using the barbecue grill, instead of the indoor oven, I would choose using this over a pizza steel or other cast-iron pan. So even though it is a great product, you’ll have to decide for yourself if you could use it enough to justify the price.

Classic Cast Iron Griddle
Not quite as thick as a cast iron frying pan so it gets hot much faster. This replaces the griddle that came with my grill. It didn't have any handles so was difficult to remove I left it out too often and kept having to re-season. The handles make all the difference. I bring it in after every use. Seasoning was easy, couple table spoons of coconut oil. Wasn't sure it would fit the griddle compartment on my grill however, it works better than when I place it directly on the main grill surface. Cleanup is a breeze, just rinse with hot water in the sink. The hamburger press is also pretty amazing. It has a leather sleeve on the handle that slips on and off easily. If you've ever used a hamburger press with a wooden handle you already know this but you should take this sleeve off if you are going to leave the press on the grill. I like using the press for bacon. Keeps and flat and cooks evenly.

Awesome Griddle for Serious Cooking!
This 17" round griddle is a game changer for grilling. Heats up fast and cooks super evenly. We've used it for everything from pancakes to smash burgers and it handles it all like a champ. The grill press is a great bonus too, helps get that perfect sear. We are really happy with it!

Perfect size
First off this is very big and fits the Weber type charcoal grill perfectly. We let it preheat and actually baked a take and bake pizza on it! Also did grilled onions, peppers etc that would typically fall through the grate when cooking. Cleanup was easy . The burger press it comes with is perfect for smash burgers. Although it's a bit on the heavy side, it's a very versatile cooking surface.

Major Drawbacks. Not recommended for mere mortals.
This item is too heavy and too big, and it is not apparent from the photographs what the problem is. I would not recommend this for a family of less than five. This is far too big for one or two people to cook on. That, combined with the maintenance to keep it from rusting, makes it a bad choice for most people. It also requires a very large grill space to sit on. and crowds out everything else on the grill. This is more for a restaurant than for individuals. Beware.

I have been a cast iron cooking devote for many, many years and when I saw this Made In Cookware - Seasoned Carbon Steel Griddle + Grill Press I just knew that I had to order it and give it a try. Upon unboxing you are presented with griddle in a cloth storage bag, the grill press in an individual cardboard box and instruction card. I ordered the 17" round griddle but instead received the 24" rectangle griddle. This turned out to be a good mistake because the rectangle griddle was a much better fit for my BBQ than the round one would have been. I having been using the griddle exclusively on my propane BBQ. What I noticed instantly upon taking it out of the box was its substantial weight. This is definitely not some thin lightweight griddle. The manufacturer claims that carbon steel is half the weight of cast iron and while it does feel somewhat lighter than a comparable cast iron griddle I can't verify that it is half weight. The rectangular griddle is 24" from handle to handle with the actual cooking surface approximately 19.5" x 10.5". It has two handles which are part of the griddle (not welded or bolted on). The handles are not insulted so gloves are necessary to move the griddle when hot. The griddle also features raised edges to keep any juices from spilling over the edge when cooking. The company logo is embossed in the griddle surface. The griddle comes pre-seasoned and this was evident as it had a small oil drip running on the surface. There is also a heavy grill press included. The grill press has a one piece construction which ensures that there are no cracks and crevices to hold dirt and dried food. It also has a removable "leather" handle sleeve to protect your hand from burns. The grill press appears to be made from a different material than the griddle but is still a very substantial and solid item. The grill press is perfect for making smash burgers. The manufacturer has also included an instruction card explaining how to season carbon steel, how to cook with carbon steel, how to clean carbon steel and do's and don'ts of carbon steel. There are also QR codes to access recipes and to register the warranty for the product. This is a good read especially if you have never used this type of griddle previously. I have been using this product on my propane BBQ and the results I have achieved are outstanding. My burgers are now at a different level than being cooked directly on the grill itself. Steaks are equally impressive when cooked on the griddle. Another upside to the griddle is that you can use it on your BBQ to cook items that previously would have been impossible to cook on a grill. I can now make breakfast (eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes, etc.) on my BBQ with stellar results. This is great especially in the hot summer months when you might not want to use your stove in an already hot house. Heat retention is very good with the griddle. My BBQ will be cool after use and the griddle will still be warm for some time afterwards. Overall, despite its quite hefty price this griddle and grill press live up to my expectations and even exceed them. The griddle cooks every bit as well as cast iron. Its heavy one piece construction and weight exudes a quality product. Based on my personal experiences using this product I highly recommend it. If you want to take your BBQing to the next level this griddle and grill press are definitely worthy of your consideration. RATING 5.0/5.0 The rectangular griddle is priced at $299.00 at the time of this review.

This is a huge disk of a grill with 2 handles on it, but it is very, very nice quality. The edges are a little pointy, but nothing dangerous or uncomfortable. It has a rough coating on it. The handles do not have any sort of heat barriers on them, so be aware to have gloves or something should you need to remove it. I was actually surprised at how thin it is, but it is still very rigid and very sturdy. It comes pre-seasoned do you can use it right out of the box, but they say that it doesn't hurt to season it more (more is better?) if you want to. They also give some nice tips for keeping it in good usable condition. I can't really say any complaints about the quality of this, but I'm not entirely sure it is worth $400. Not in the sense that the material doesn't cost that - it may be close, I don't know - but in the sense that is it really needed? I could definitely see it being useful for cooking non-grillable foods over an open fire. Like bacon and eggs or something. But given the weight and size of this, why not just bring a regular griddle. Perhaps I'm just not the target audience. But don't let that dissuade you if you are thinking about buying it because it is an excellent piece of equipment.

I picked up the rectangular version of this carbon‑steel griddle and it’s quickly become my daily driver on the stovetop. Compared with my trusty cast‑iron pieces, it comes to temperature faster, spreads heat evenly across all four burners, and rebounds almost instantly after a cold ingredient hits the surface. It’s also much easier to move and store compared to my caste iron. The sheet‑integrated handles keep the weight manageable and feel rock‑solid, though they do stick out a bit, which make it difficult to store, and prevent me from putting it in my oven (it’s too wide). The cooking surface is smooth developed a dark, slick patina after just a couple of seasoning sessions. Once dialed in, eggs slide off, pancakes flip cleanly, and smash burgers develop that perfect crust. If you’re new to carbon steel, remember it rewards a little technique: pre‑heat until water droplets dance, add a thin layer of fat (butter is my go‑to), then leave the food alone until the Maillard reaction does its thing. Treat it right and you’ll get non‑stick performance without any synthetic coating. Build quality feels excellent - edges are nicely finished, the plate sits perfectly flat. I originally wanted the round model for a kamado grill, but the rectangular shape has proved so handy on the stove that I’m glad I gave it a shot. Final Thought - lighter than cast iron, hotter than non‑stick, and robust enough for everyday searing, sauteing, or saturday morning pancakes. Impressed by the performance but maybe not so much the value given some completing alternatives.

This is NOT your entry-level everyday-use griddle, but it is a FANTASTIC kitchen product for anyone who wishes to add to their selection of cooking pans and griddles, because it's a great deluxe cooking surface, and the price might be a bit steep, but it is 100% worth it. Now, this rectangular griddles does come pre-seasoned, but I always suggest cleaning it and seasoning it again before using it the first time just to make sure you get the best experience the first time. I love that you can use this on literally any cooking surface, and I can't wait to bring this on our next camping expedition, so we can cook on the fire. But it can also be used on a regular ceramic cooktop oven, or induction or gas, so it really work for everybody. I also suggest reading the maintenance guide that's included with the pan to make sure you clean, use and store it as best as you can to keep it for a long time, but you will NOT regret this purchase.
