I bought this display as an upgrade to an existing 1080p portable monitor I'd been using as a vertical (portrait) add-on to my work from home setup. I already knew that a 15.6" size was ideal for my setup (see the images - this is the portrait monitor on the right of my desk). I also wanted something I can mount on a VESA arm in the future. Of course, it can be used as a landscape display as well, and is just as portable as you'd expect - I expect to carry this with me when I get back to travelling again.The display came in a very nice sturdy box. Unboxing presented me with some film to protect the display, as well as a screen protector (blue-light filter). Underneath were the manual, 2x USB-C to USB-C cables, an HDMI cable, a UK USB power plug, and a tool for smoothing the film onto the screen. I've chosen not to apply that so far. All-in-all, a really comprehensive package - nothing bare-bones here.The screen itself is glossy but not too shiny. It comes with a magnetic case which doubles as a stand if you are using it as a portable item (this itself is better than the screen I'm replacing, since that one has a case that needs to be screwed on to the back - this is far more convenient). On the left side are buttons to bring up a menu and adjust various settings, as well as a power toggle, and a micro-USB connector. On the right are HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C display/power input port, and a USB-C Power Delivery port if you want to charge devices. Technically, the display identifies itself as model HS156KC with 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60Hz. In the settings, there are options for various display modes including a Game mode, HDR and DCR, with Freesync and Overdrive.I tried it with a USB-C to USB-C cable on my iPad Pro and it worked first time, mirroring the screen. I then set it up with my Windows Surface laptop, and again it works well, really nice sharp 4K display that I think I'll enjoy using (the builtin display on the 15" Surface is not 4K). Finally, for home working I have it setup with my 15" MacBook Pro 2019 model, rotated 90 degrees so that I can read documents and follow social feeds more easily.Very pleased.

A really great portable monitor. I used a cheaper 1080p portable monitor before and this product is a great improvement for me. It's thicker and heavier than the 1080p screens but 4k totally worths a little bit more weight. My Xbox One X couldn't recognise the HDR function of my previous screen because it was not in 4k, but now it works flawlessly. If you don't care about high framerate (well, console framerate is locked anyway), this one should be actually better than that G-Story 4k gaming portable monitor.It still shares an issue with my previous 1080p portable monitor: the headphone sound is out of place if I use its headphone jack rather than my console controller's headphone jack.When it is used as an external monitor for pc, the colour is too green and needs me to calibrate on pc manually. I can also enable HDR on pc settings, which gives me the best colour representation but also brings a lot of lags.At last, a few pros I want to mention: the smart cover has a magnet part, making it hold the screen firmly when it is used as a stand. IPS also gives you better visual quality in general. A less-noticed pro, but which I highly appreciate, is it has a Mini DisplayPort, which is quite rare among all the portable monitors sold in the market. Because I'm using Surface Pro 6, it really helps me save some money from buying an expensive Microsoft official Mini DisplayPort adapter.

First purchased in 2022, I have been very happy with this screen. I use is as a second screen for a laptop and wanted both a portable solution and a 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution. Just over a year of ownership passed and the unit developed a problem with one of the buttons on the side becoming non-operational (to alter brightness).I got in touch with the manufacturer via Amazon customer service and the unit was replaced straight away. My customer service experience has been very good, with clear instructions and swift responses. The replacement unit has presumably had a minor update in terms of its design as the buttons on the side are much more sturdy than on the first unit that I purchased in 2022.Based on my experience (the unit has been ideal for my needs and my problem was solved very swiftly) I'd recommend the unit if you are seeking a relatively low cost, portable higher resolution second screen for your laptop. One thing to note, it does operate via USB-C, so the performance of the laptop can be slightly impacted when the second screen is in use. But if you are using it for general stuff like email, browsing, spreadsheeting and writing documents, its just fine.

Quality wise... Its good. good brightness and colour. It serves the purposeit has sound which was unexpected, but don't rely on it as it's almost to not having one.My biggest disappoint is... it some how reset(switches off and on again) itself from anywhere few hrs to every few minutes, so if u watching a movie or something gets very annoying. Because browser gets re arranged and moves to different monitor. It almost makes unusable if u streaming video. If u working n not streaming then it doesn't reset so often.But we all work remotely, so regardless how expensive PC graphics card or monitor you have once u plug this in, even for trade graph or tiny screen for youtube music while u working, it switches off and reset all ur screens... $300 screen good enough to make ur your $10k and high end over $1k screens useless.Don't buy if u planning to stream some video while working. USELESS.Update:Team reached me out and apologised for bad experience and sent me brand new monitor latest version for FREE. I tested it and satisfied I found no screen reset. So I'm giving them now 4 stars :)
