I ended up purchasing a 2nd F1 garage. These are based on the City version of F1 cars and I fell upon a hack to make the garage accommodate the F1 Speed Champions but needed a 2nd set. After kindly being pointed out to me that they were on offer, I took up the opportunity and I am ready to build the Garage from the 2 sets. The offer made the purchase value for money. It's top quality being the real Lego. It will be entertaining to use the 2 sets to build a larger Garage and obviously when finished will look excellent

Lego has got to be one of the best toys ever invented. 1.1 trillion Lego pieces have been made so far, 135 for each person on Earth; this set contains 678 of them - enough to make two pit garages and a pair of F1 racing cars. In 2025 Lego are officially licensed by Formula 1 and are releasing a whole series of kits which cover all ten teams and twelve cars. This set contains two of the cars, Mercedes-AMG and Alpine, in a pit garage scene. These are the smaller models aimed at people aged seven years and beyond, but if mum and dad want to join in there will be detailed models with cars costing a couple of hundred pounds! My Grandson has been building Lego for a number of years and is quite proficient. He found this set easy to build, as would most people if they follow the instructions - Lego instructions rank among the best ever written. Excited by seeing the image on the box he set to work building it. The 6 bags of pieces were kept sealed until their contents were called for by the instructions. Each stage was completed with ease and the only problem was a pair of small bricks that should have been white ending up being grey - a very unusual error in a Lego set. The FI cars were made from very similar pieces and their only difference was the colour of the “bricks” and the transfers. I don’t know if this will be true across all twelve cars in the series, but building all of them would cease to present a challenge if they are. If your child is a “collector” that isn’t satisfied until they have got everything in a set, this Lego series might prove expensive, especially if the small cars are only available as part of a kit, such as this pit garage. On the subject of price I think, even for a toy with the quality of original Lego, which this is, the seventy pound price tag is too high. Something in the region of fifty would have been more reasonable. The cars are free running and the pit garage has a simple mechanism to propel them forwards, but they don’t go very far - I imagine it will have no lasting fascination. Lego have taken a “dolls’ house” approach with this pit garage. There are lots of small pieces; for example tool chests with drawers holding spanners and hammers. This adds a lot to the play value of the set long after the construction phase is completed and for children who like Lego figures (some don’t!) two teams of mechanics are also on hand. A few spare parts are in the kit. These include two rods that have to be bent into shape - just in case they get bent out of shape. For those who don’t already know what it is for, the strange orange lever is a very useful brick separator. The F1 series is a great addition to an Lego’s exciting and educational range of toys. It’s a little on the pricy side, but still highly recommended.

Grandson aged 8 was really thrilled with this. Good to have something for imaginative play longer term, as well as the fun of constructing it.

Die LEGO City F1 Garage ist bei uns sofort gut angekommen. Der Aufbau macht Spaß und ist gut verständlich, auch für Kinder. Besonders die beiden Rennautos von Mercedes-AMG und Alpine sind richtig gelungen und sehen sofort nach Formel 1 aus. Die Garage bietet viele kleine Details, die das Spielen abwechslungsreich machen – vom Schrauben bis zum Vorbereiten der Autos fürs Rennen. Genau das Richtige, um der Fantasie freien Lauf zu lassen. Die Autos sind robust und halten auch intensiverem Spielen problemlos stand. Typisch LEGO: gute Qualität, saubere Verarbeitung und alles passt perfekt.
