The Kettle is purported to be high quality. But there are problems.1. Handle heats up, if used on a gas stove.2. The base is thin, seems not durable.3. Water outlet is a bit wide, a smaller outlet / neck would make for a more steady and controlled pour.Most reviews seem to over-rate this Kettle. For its price, there shouldn't really be any issues at all. After all it's just a steel vessel!

It's an average Stainless Steel gooseneck dripper, as far as functionality is concerned.However, since it's meant for use with Hario Pour Over drippers needing precise control of quantity and temperature of water, lack of in-built thermometer & even measuring scale on the pot makes it imperative to buy & use with additional devices, increasing user cost and impairs utility.The Stainless Steel sheet used is quite thin and gives a flimsy feel and incapable of use on stoves, as sheet is likely to spoil when used over open flame, can simply be used to transfer and store hot water for pouring.Hario needs to improve quality of these Chinese sourced mass produced gooseneck kettles, which adversely affects the impression of consumers about excellent quality of it's other Japanese made glass products.

What a subtly finished coffee maker that deserves the name Hario!! Those who have used, as me, the Hario one and other generic ones probably will agree with me: you get what you pay for!

This kettle has such an amazing design. The build quality is very good and I think this is going to last me a very long time.

最高にお気に入りの一つです。HARIOのケトル[ヴォーノ]は、所有する喜びがありますよ。味自慢のコーヒーショップでよく使われているので、見かけるとニヨニヨしてます。見た目はシャープなのに、柔らかい曲線できれいに造形されており、マット調のステンレスで取っ手まで統一されたデザインなんです。芸術作品のような美しさです。■ケトルとして・接合の不良やバリはなく、基本機能はしっかりしています・蓋のツマミやグリップが熱くならない・軽い・お湯が沸くと、蓋がカタカタ鳴く(笛の代替)・臭いはありませんお湯が沸く時間は、遅くないです。強火にすると火が回り込み樹脂部品が痛みそうなので、中火で使いましょう。内側に手が入るので洗いやすいです。比較的傷が付きやすいように思えますので、スポンジは柔らかい面で洗うようにしています。1年使ったステンレス焼けが妖しく光り、いい味だしています。2杯分300ml＋αしか沸かさないので、600mlのケトル(3段ウェーブ)と悩みましたが、800mlの4段ウェーブのデザインで選びました。■コーヒー用として・細くでて、湯量のコントロールがしやすい・ポタポタ点滴でも落とせる・グリップが握りやすく、傾けた状態が使いやすい構造狙ったところに注げ、湯量も繊細なコントロールが可能です。慣れれば、糸のように細く途切れずに注けます。お湯を注ぐ傾けたときが、最も持ちやすく負荷が掛からないのは、素敵すぎます。僕は、4:6メソッドで淹れるので、比較的ドバドバ入れちゃうのですが、もっと細く出したいのなら急須スキッターを使うのが良いと思います。2個入り200円で購入し使いましたが、垂直に落ちるのに慣れず、元の状態にしました。■竹井器物[フィーノ]との比較以前、[竹井器物 フィーノ ステンレスコーヒードリップポット 1.2L]を使っていました。今はカップ麺用に使っています。さてHARIO[ヴォーノ]と何が違うのか身体検査をしました。えっ？えええ！同じ。。。どこをどう測っても全く同じです。底面の大きさ、くぼみや折返しの造形。蓋の形状まで同じです。注ぎストロー部分なんかは、全く同一で出口の形状も変わりません。蓋を交換して、シルエイティみたくできますwたぶん竹井器物のOEM商品なのでしょう。(HARIOさん暴いてごめんなさい)商品名が似ているのは気のせいです。重量は、差がありますがごく僅かです。HARIO：407.0g竹井器物:427.5g好みの差になりますが、グリップはHARIOの方がいいです。形状と角度がいいです。ツルツル(竹井器物)とザラザラ(HARIO)の違いもあります。【所感】実は、OEMだと薄々わかって買いました。(HARIOさんはガラスメーカーじゃないですか)竹井器物ケトルは使いやすかったのですが、コンロ付近に出しっぱなしにしており、油まみれのままお湯を沸かしていたため、汚れがこびり付いてしまい、金属磨きクロスでも復元出来ませんでした。ごめんなさい。HARIOのデザインに惚れたのと、マット調が好きなので、買い替えを決意。絶対にきれいに使うぞ！と心を入れ替えました。自分の趣味くらい、気に入った美しいモノにしたいじゃないですか。僕はHARIOのV60のウェーブデザインで統一しており、レトロ調より近代的デザインが好みです。HARIOさんの新しいタイプ「フィット」シリーズより、ウェーブデザインの[ヴォーノ]が好きです。趣味の世界ですので、コスパで考えず、好みのデザインで選ぶのが僕のポリシーです。

温度計付きの蓋と同時に購入しました。本体は見た目のデザインが秀逸、また、ドリップ時の注ぎやすさもコントロールしやすい方だと思います。今まではホーローのドリップケトルを使用していて、余計な臭いは皆無でした。しかし、この製品は金属臭がけっこう目立ちます。注ぐお湯にも金属が溶け出していると考えるべきでしょう。ただ、ステンレス製のものはみな同じなのか、あるいは、この製品に特有なのか、あるいは使って行く内に金属臭が減っていくものなのかは不明です。フッ素樹脂加工など施されているものがあれば、純粋に珈琲に拘るのであればそちらの方がいいかも知れません。余談ですが、高価な温度計付きの専用蓋はスチームアイロンのような樹脂臭が漂い、大変不快です。お湯に溶け込んでなければいいのですが、蓋の滴が落ちるでしょうからそんなわけにはいかないでしょう。HRIOは格好はいいけど、味や健康似対するデリカシーに欠けているような気がしてなりません。

The box stated “Made in China”. This was an extremely poorly made kettle, low grade thin metal, very loose lid which fell out on tipping downwards, lumpy design, lightweight handle. I daren’t use it due to risk of scalding due to ill fitting lid and also boiling over by lid being forced to blow out. Informed Amazon who sent free replacement which was no different.Kettle was not stamped “Made in China” anywhere except illegible letters and symbols scratched on bottom of kettle . Only the box stated “Made in China” and the instructions leaflet stated Hario’s address in Japan. So I bought a kettle from another supplier which was stamped “Made in Japan” on the kettle bottom and different instructions leaflet confirming this. The quality is extremely high, lid fits as it should, stainless steel is thick, the handle attachment is strong, the design is elegant, it is a pleasure to have. I would never buy this product under any circumstances if it stated “Made in China. An awful buying experience overall.

After just a few uses the handle on the lid broke off. I've glued it back on using Gorilla glue and it appears to be holding up. Disappointed that what is meant to be a top make broke like this. Although from reading other reviews they are now made in China and the quality is not what it used to be.If the handle comes off again I will return it.

At first you think, "do I really need this to pour water?" And then you try it and realise, yes. Yes, I do.
