New Lawn
Bought this RTF seed because I needed a tuff lawn for my active dog. Had been overgrown with moss, which was removed first. New loam, a preemergent that doesn't destroy new seeds, seeded, kept wet. One week later, Beautiful spouts everywhere!!! It helps with the spring rains we are getting now too!

Grows Like Crazy - Really Pretty Grass - Beautiful Color and Texture
We used the Water Saver RTF seed to replace warm-season St. Augustine grass in the DFW area. We liked the promise of a deep root system, fine texture, and deep green color even under stress. Those were the prime factors for choosing it. If you buy it, don't stint on soil prep. Remove the old grass. Till, amend, and level the soil as recommended. We sowed the seed as the package instructs, added seed starter fertilizer, and then topped it all with 1/8 inch topping of organic humus and manure (The $1.65 a bag stuff at Home Depot-we used 30 bags). We kept it moist as directed (not soaked) and the first shoots started appearing at 5 days. Growth was dramatic. At 4 weeks, you wouldn't know the grass hasn't been growing there for years. It has produced a very lush-looking deep green lawn. It looks way nicer than I imagined it would and am happy about that. We HIGHLY recommend using the humus and manure as a topper. The seed covered by it sprouted faster and thicker than in the small areas we had that weren't as well covered by it. Now, will it survive our hot summers? I don't know. Time will tell. Right now the grass is gorgeous, my wife is happy, and I like it too.September 2022:All those NICE comments above remain true... BUT... After our summer of drought and temps topping 110 degrees F and not cooling off much at night, NO amount of watering could keep it alive. To be fair, SOME of it is still alive, but 99.9% of it is DEAD - NOPE, no root survival either. HOWEVER, the 1/100th of a percent that's still alive is certainly TOUGH and it's still GREEN. If it continues to grow, and if it actually spreads, then my lawn may be a deep, dark green fescue lawn again in 10-15 years time... Will I start over or stay put? Frankly, I'm not going to get rid of what's left of the Water Saver RTF, but I think it might do better in hot (transitional zone) climates if mini white clover is seeded with it. WHY? The clover fixes nitrogen into the soil that the fescue can use and will also provide some shading and cooling for it as well. If they can play nice together, the mini While Clover might better protect the Water Saver RTF from extreme summer conditions. If there is any useful news regarding my ongoing experience with Water Saver RTF, I'll provide updates. My opinion as of now is that Water Saver RTF is way over-rated for SOUTHERN TRANSITIONAL ZONE heat tolerance and durability. "Water-Saver" is misleading because there is no standard of reference to measure it against. It may be a water saver somewhere, but not HERE. It's also possible that, since some of the grass survived - and survived pretty well all considered - the Water Saver RTF blend may need to be better balanced for heat tolerance and more aggressive in growth... For now, for me, Crimson Clover for a winter lawn cover crop, Mini White Clover for a ground cover this spring... My Water Saver RTF - well it's certainly going to have a hard time proving itself... BUT I would like to see it succeed... But, NOPE, I'm not holding my breath...

Barenbrug RTF grass seed
I haven’t used this particular bag yet but I have used Barenbrug RTF in the past (Fall 2022). It provides a nice green lawn in a little less than a month. It’s a quality grass seed without fillers or weed seed. As with any grass seed one must follow proper seeding practices to get the best possible results from the grass seed. I have no doubts this grass seed will provide me with a nice looking lawn when I decide to do some overseeding in the spring.

Ultimate grass seed
Im in southeast Nebraska. Sprayed 1000 sq ft of my back yard weed patch of a lawn with round up Aug 11th then threw down this RTF seed aug 25th. Set my sprinkler timer to water it down 4 times a day for 15 minutes each time. It was sprouting in 5 days. The green pic was taken 21 days after planting the seed. In my mind this should be the only grass anyone should ever plant. Its tough, drought tolerate, low maintenance, and it spreads. This is going to be fun to see how it matures into next summer. I will try to update this review next September.

Water saver tall fescue grass seed with random seeds and percentage in every bag you order
UPDATED REVIEW AND CHANGED TO 1 STAR I'm new to grass seed world but I've been doing my research with different brands of seeds since purchasing a house in April. I came across the Watersaver brand due to possibly using less water. I ordered and received my 1st bag of Watersaver September 16 I had been conditioning my soil the last few weeks so it was time for overseeding. The Watersever seeds did take about around 10 days to see any germs but once they did those area started to take off and are green and spreading to the bold spots. The bad here's the problem with Watersaver seeds as posted on pictures attached you never know what types and percentage of each seeds your going to get. RTF seeds are a very big selling point and for all 3 bags of my watersaver seeds have completely different types of seeds with one bag having .10% weeds and 0.54% ryegrass and most importantly the RTF % are different so you're most likely have different grass grow and spread rates this is bad for business. Looking at others review picture tags I see even more different seed types and percentage. WATERSAVER HOW CAN THIS BE CORRECTED? I have reach out to Barenbrug twice with someone picking up and taking my name and number to make sure I receive the same batch/lot of seeds but it's been over 3 weeks and no call back
