Featuring a far-reaching 65x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 21-1,365mm in the 35mm format, the PowerShot SX60 HS Digital Camera from Canon will provide users with a compact, yet extremely versatile unit for capturing highly detailed images. Additionally, this camera is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording at 60 fps and has an external microphone input for higher quality audio. The SX60 also combines a 16.1-megapixel High Sensitivity CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 6 image processor to create the Canon HS SYSTEM, allowing for accurate colors and fine detail to be captured in low-light conditions. The SX60 offers two methods for composing images and video, either through the bright 3.0" vari-angle LCD display or an electronic viewfinder. Each features a 922k-dot resolution and works with the Zoom Framing Assist function to help track and capture subjects while at the furthest telephoto focal lengths. There is also a High Speed AF that when paired with the 6.4 fps continuous shooting speed you will be able to record a plethora of sharp stills and video at full resolution. Additionally, this camera is capable of RAW image capture. Also packed into this camera is an Intelligent Image Stabilization system with eight different modes for getting the best possible image depending on the situation. And, in addition to all of the other features, the SX60 has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC for connecting to a compatible mobile device.

Value for Money High Quality Images
This is my fourth Canon of which two were digital. I was very satisfied with the results I achieved during bird and game photography with my Canon PowerShot SX40 HS until I used a friend's Powershot SX60. This wireless full HD camera has a really amazing optical zoom capability in addition to it's many sophisticated features that one normally associates with expensive top of the range cameras. The camera is lightweight, robust and extremely versatile. At $360 dollars it is an absolute bargain and due to the speed with which a target can be acquired and zoomed in on definitely preferable for on the fly bird and game photography.

Perfect camera!
I received the camera within 2 days and I am very pleased. The SD card was not included so I had to puchase one separately. It is easy to use and far exceeded my expectations! I wish a full instruction booklet had been included because I am working on minimizing screen time. That said, all the information one needs is easily accessible on line. I highly recommend this camera!

Newer version but not better
I have had the Powershot SX30IS since 2011 and loved it. I was about to take the cruise of a lifetime around South America and wanted to make sure I had a good camera so I bought the SX60 thinking I was upgrading. Come of the new features are nice such as balance. The battery life is AWEFUL! I took the SX30SI to Peru where I did a 4 day hike to Machu Pichu. The battery for the SX30 consists of 4 AA. As a result, by the time we reached the mountain, I was the only one who still had battery life in my camera and got some great shots. The battery life of the SX30 was awesome. On a trip like the Peru (4 days and over 800 shots) I changed the batteries once. The SX60 is a rechargeable battery that lasts maybe a day and I might get 30 shots before the battery dies. As a result, I missed getting shots of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio. I even had all extra features turned off and power saver turned on. The motion stabilizer isn't worth a plug nickel and the 65x zoom on the SX60 is no better than the 35x zoom on the SX30. The quality of the camera body is fairly solid in both cases. The picture quality is the same up to the point of using the digital zoom and that's where the SX60 fails. Not happy with this version of the Powershot and would not recommend it.

this camera looks wonderful! I will post more details as I progress
I just received my new Canon Powershot SX60. It was packaged properly and everything was in order. It is a bit more complicated than my old Nikon Coolpix camera, so I will have a bit of a learning curve, but that's what it's all about. Growth and learning = CHANGE! From all the internet videos I have watched and reviews I have read, this camera looks wonderful! I will post more details as I progress.

Love it
Very happy. I just received my Canon Powershot SX60... It was very well packaged and delivered much quicker than anticipated. Thank you so much for that.Of course, I have not started using it... the battery is currently charging. But I have been using a Canon Powershot for years and they are just great. I am happy I ordered this SX60. I really wanted more megapixels and more telephoto. I love taking pictures of wildlife and landscapes (while travelling). So I love the fact that you do not have to carry extra lens and the camera is light...

Excellent camera for wildlife photography
I bought this camera to replace the Canon SX50 that I have used for several years. Unfortunately I got sand in my SX50 which was causing problems. The SX60 is a step up with an even greater zoom, better than the expensive cameras for taking out to the beach and getting close ups. Delivery was prompt with no problems. I would highly recommend.

Good bang for the buck
Lots of upgrades from my old Canon SX10....I would have given it a 5 star but you cannot add a filter and still use the lens cap.
