A basic set for sharpening knives
Knife Sharpening Stone Set, Whetstone Dual Sided 1000/6000 Grit Waterstone with Angle Guide Non Slip Rubber Base Holder. The set looks very well-made and includes everything I need to sharpen my knives. I'm especially impressed with the dual-sided waterstone and the angle guide. While I haven't had a chance to use it yet, I'm confident that this kit will be a great addition to my kitchen. I'm looking forward to trying it out and restoring my knives to their former sharpness. The non-slip base also appears very sturdy and safe. I think it is a great buy. This review represents my personal opinion and experience with this product. Whetstone
I got this to sharpen my knives. I've only need to do this a few times a year, and so far it's worked pretty well. The guide is useful if you're new to sharpening knives. I like that it has two grits, which allows me to do a rough and finer sharpening. The base is solid and has been holding up so far. Make sure you follow the directions and soak the whetstone for at least 10 minutes before sharpening knives. I like to follow this with a leather strop.

Great for First Timers
Nobody told me not to use a slab of concrete as a cutting board or not to use steel wool to clean the blades of my knives, so I've been living with some incredibly dull knives, and this whetstone has saved the day.Kidding aside, the instructions were pretty good, though I recommend first watching a professional chef perform the sharpening process on YouTube or another site. I didn't end up using the angle guidance tool they provide with the whetstone, as I found it easier to find my preferred sharpening angle by eye (start with 90 degrees to the whetstone, then cut that in half (pun intended) to get to 45, then again to get to 22.5, then lower a few millimeters to get to the 15-20 degree sweet spot). The result after a few passes was great: no burs along the edge and no dull spots. The package comes with a non-slip base and silicone holder for the whetstone, so I was never worried that it might slip.

HIGH quality! Easy to use! GREAT packing! GOOD instructions!
I did a LOT of research before purchasing one of these and the prices of these range from $10 to well over $100. Since I hadn’t used a stone before I didn’t want to spend a large amount of money so I opted for lower cost, but still wanted good quality. I read the reviews & they were right on! This stone is GREAT! It works great! It helped burr down knives I had that were chipped, sharpened knives that were beyond dull, and sharpened my scissors that I thought were dull for LIFE!! I love that NO oil is needed. Water is needed, it says submerge for 5 minutes, which I did beforehand then because I had about 10 knives, scissors to sharpen & it took some time, I added water to the stone periodically to ensure it stayed wet. It definitely helped! SO I definitely recommend this! I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the flattening stone that it comes with after done sharpening to keep its integrity!Highly recommend this stone! GREAT QUALITY! GREAT PRICE! EASY TO USE! COMES WITH INSTRUCTIONS! I CAN’T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS STONE/PRODUCT....IT SAVED MY 🔪 & ✂️ !!

No Where near a 6000 grit
As many others have stated, the grits are reversed. Just going by the scratch pattern, the white side is coarser but softer and builds a slurry faster. the blue side is harder does not build a slurry and has a finer scratch pattern. The actual grit???? NOT 1000/6000 This is a very slow cutting stone but for cheap it will maintain your kitchen knives if you don't let them get too dull. The nagura(dressing stone) is nice to build a slurry but will take some time to flatten the sharpening stone. The stand is nice to elevate the stone off the counter and contain the slurry and water. The angle holder is an OK teaching tool for a beginner to show you how to position the knife. It does leave marks the knife so use with caution. I don't believe it is a good stone for beginners as it does not deliver good feedback and can lead to frustration. It does seem to be durable and has found a home in our camper. Save up a little and get a true 1000/6000 KDS which has a softer feel or Cerax 1000/6000 harder/faster cutting (just my 2 cents). Either should last for years.
