Today I layed out with the Carreten gel. I love the smell. It didn't stain my bathing suit or my Yellow shirt. I haven't gotten a tan in a few yrs. I just didn't want to lay in the hot sun.I layed out around 9am it was 64 degrees. I put my tanning gel on and it worked beautifully. I get really dark anyway. 💯 great product!! I have no issues with this product!

I actually really like the scent of Carroten—it has a tropical, beachy smell that reminds me of tanning lotions, but in a good way. I was initially worried it might have a plasticky chemical scent like someone else mentioned, and I knew what they meant when I first peeled the seal off, but it does not smell like that on.One of the biggest pros for me was how moisturizing it was. My skin tends to be naturally dry, and this product kept it feeling soft and hydrated. I reapplied it about three times throughout the day and used around five teaspoons in total.I spent about four hours outside by the pool, moving between sun and shade, and I did end up getting sunburned. The packaging does note that it doesn't contain SPF, so that’s something to keep in mind. As for whether it made me more tan, it’s hard to say—I might have tanned the same without it—but I did like the texture. The butter gel consistency is a nice middle ground between a lotion and an oil. Lotions usually absorb too quickly for my liking, and oils can be too messy. This was just right.One downside is that it did transfer onto the resort towels and my cover-up. I’m not sure yet if it will stain, but I’m hoping it washes out. Still, that’s not a huge deal to me.Overall, I enjoyed using it and would likely use it again—just with a separate sunscreen for protection.

I don't know if it has live dup to the online hype but I did see a color change after multiple uses. It is very intense so I did sweat a lot and get very hot. Be cautious, use sunscreen and stay hydrated.

I would give this stuff five stars...but I'm terrified to. I'm a person who tans pretty easily, and once I get going for the season, I DON'T burn. I thought I'd give this stuff a try to kick-start the season. This photo is of me after applying the gel (which has a lovely smell and consistency, by the way) and lying in the sun for about 20 minutes. So yeah, IT WORKS. But maybe too well?? Maybe I should have started the season with my normal routine of gradually increasing my sun exposure before using this stuff. And then once I was out of the burn zone, I could use it. I might try that once this burn heals.

My teenager talked me into this purchase and im glad she did. Yes I was pale, no i shouldn't have used it on a carribean cruise, but YES, it really works. I used sunscreen first, then this and got TAN, just a smidgen burnt, but hey, that's expected from me. You don't have to use much, so its a good value. The only weird thing is the inside bottom of the jar is tilted. Kind of makes you think youre getting more than youre actually getting.
