Well built charger with a well thought out mounting hardware
As compared to most chargers that are plastic, this one is a metal box that is well built and built to last. The mounting bracket supplied makes installation easy. The app works well and setup took little effort. The mount for the charging cable is a nice addition and it is easy to mount where you need it. two things to be aware of - 1. the supplied wrench did not fit the screws to take the cover off or mount the bracket. I have lots of tools and this was not an issue for me 2. the supplied heat shrink is too small to fit over the 3 gauge wire and wire mount.

Great Product and Great Value - 1/2 price of any other 80 amp charger!
Only wish was that the J1772 version was priced the same as the NACS version. Got the NACS version for my J1772 vehicles and permanently use a $30 adapter to save $200 on the price difference. I didn't have any problem with the software like some have. Only advice is to follow the instructions carefully on the software install because it can be tricky as it is similar to installing a home internet router, as you need to initially set it up through the chargers' IP address. After doing lots of study and homework, I decided to save lots of $$ and install myself. Ran 50' from my electrical box using 3 AWG wire, 1" flexible conduit, and the 100 amp breaker. My only challenge was the 3 AWG ground wire would not fit into my ground bus in my electrical panel which I was able to overcome. Charges fast. Achieved average 78.52 amps and 18.66kw power on first use. Doubled the charging speed from my previous 40 amp charger. This 80 amp charger is at the max speed for the J1772 standard so it is future proof. Just know that you need to have an EV that supports 19.2 Kw onboard charging to get the speed this charger is capable of.

GrizzlE 80 amp EV Charger
Got this installed for my 2024 Sierra Denali EV this week. It has worked great charging at 64 amps as the engineer said I did not have the capacity for 80 amps. At 64 amps it is charging at 29-30 miles per hour which I am happy with as compared to 20 with my previous charger. Great price on this 80 amp charger. GrizzlE connect app is great for scheduling and monitoring charges.

Really guys, this is BS!!!!
Update: 1-6-2025 So STILL no call from support. I fully understand this charger won't charge at 80 amps on my 2024 lighting, thats a truck issue, but my charger still won't connect to the internet and despite emails asking for support I've got NOTHING from them. I even asked to speak to someone in legal, nothing. I guess I'll just file a small claims action and let them ignore that and get a judgement, I'll use that to get a different charger. So, I purchased this unit after looking online at options in the 100A range. To be clear not a lot of options!!!! So two things stand out now that I've spent $6,000.00 to ad 2-gauge wire across my property for the 100-amp service. 1) First thing that stands out is that I can't connect it to the internet. Thats HUGE deal because without a connection to the internet makes it a DUMB charger in that you can't control when it charges. Thats a BIG deal as it means you have to get up and plug it in and unplug it to get the right rates. The company position is (My internet is "to complicated" I run an eero network from amazon, normal stuff for sure 2) Second even thou it works it only charges at 46 amps not the 80 advertised. They are telling me it's an issue with my truck a 2024 F150 lightning, even though I can charge at north of 100 amps on other chargers. So, the tech basically told me to pound sand and hung up on me after an hour if tech support. We are going scorched earth now. I paid for something that does not do as advertised and spend a ton bringing 100A service to that garage. ZERO STARS and I'm going after them in small claims next.

Fantastic EV charger
This is a fantastic EV charger! It was easy to install, came with everything except the right size heat shrink tubing, and very customizable. I installed it 3 months ago and it not only works as advertised but has had several beneficial firmware updates! The dip switch current control is great for installing on smaller circuits making this charger super versatile and the app current control is great for making sure you balance your whole panel current draw (if you need to). I have a 100amp service line to my garage and most of the time this charger is all that's on it so it can charge at full rate but sometimes I have a large electric heater I need to run so I can dial back the charging rate in the app super easy! (worst case scenario is I pop the breaker). This came recommended to me and hasn't let me down!

Works great
We purchased our first EV just before Thanksgiving, and was lucky timing when I ordered this charger during their black Friday sale. I installed the charger earlier this week, and have been using a couple of days now with no issues at all. There are a lot of reviews stating it was difficult to connect to wifi, I do not encounter that at all. Connecting to my wifi took less than a minute, followed the step by step instructions and no problem at all. Has not disconnected once. The unit is installed in my garage, and I do have a google mesh wifi router close by in the garage, so I'm sure that helps. We have been using to charge our new Cadillac Lyriq, I've tested charging at 19.2 kWh (80amp) and no issue at all, I've slowed the amps down as well and working great. My only complaint is the tight working space inside the unit. You need to run the the L1 and L2 through the transformer, when using 2 gauge wire, that is a little tricky and take some time to work the wire through without damaging anything on the internals. I wish the app had a few more features, but it works great. I wish it had the ability to set the amps based on the time to charge. For example, you plug in at night, and have set to pull enough amps to have charged by 8am the next morning, or something like that. That would be a nice feature to add

Poor installation instructions and phone application
Solid charger but I feel ripped off. It went on sale for $150.00 less than I paid recently and I am more than a little unhappy about that. However, I must say that the unit is sturdy and very well-built. The installation instructions were written superficially and poorly and typical concerns and questions regarding pairing with the router that should have been addressed were omitted. For instance, what do you do if you make a mistake and have to start over? I had to bring in an electrician after the installation a second time to pair it even after calling the company for assistance. The CSR tried to help and was well-meaning but seemed to need more hands-on experience and gave me incorrect information. I know they are working on a poorly written phone application (YouTube) which is frustrating and incomplete. It does not give accurate information about the charging, period! It is virtually free of feedback on what is going on in real-time. I hope they rewrite the installation instructions as well. This was an expensive and experating experience for me and I have lots of home electronics experience.

Works, great price point
Got this for my Lyriq since I have the optional 19.2kw charger. So far just wiring as 40A charger since I had some 6/3 laying around from an old hot tub. First off the provide lugs but don't provide torque for the set screws on the lugs only to torque the lug to the PCB. Contacted support, some confusion but answered right away. They didn't know and it was early so they were going to ask the technical writer or engineer when they get in and get back to me. Never did. The lugs are similar to ilsco lugs I have at work so I pulled that manual and figured out 45in-lb is appropriate for my wire. They need to provide a torque table for the lugs they source. The hole for conduit is some odd size, metric PG maybe. Was able to jam a 1" plastic npt fitting in there but it is undersized. The shrink tube they provide in no way is fitting over those lugs. Maybe if you stretch it with pliers, used larger stuff I luckily had on hand. They recommend using 4awg for a 100A circuit to feed this 80A charger. Not sure if they want you to use Teflon insulation? Anyways this just seems wrong. I'm not an electrician, I am an electrical engineer and have a decent understanding of this stuff but I don't study the NEC handbook regularly although a do have copies of it at my desk. Anyways seems like a good way to start a fire. #3 cu at a minimum would make sense. Had to resort to the full online manual to get the WiFi connected. I do a lot of networking so not that hard but my wife is never accomplishing this. I have a dedicated 2.4 network for IoT devices already set up and this box has an external antenna. I also have an AP in my garage less that 10ft line of sight to this thing. No password on their local SSID, not great security.. Can add one but really should have something to start with. Hopefully not all bad, just my observations installing this thing. Haven't plugged my car in yet, this is at my vacation home and wanted to get this installed before bringing the car here so I can get back home. Keeping a 14-50 outlet on hand as a backup in case this thing doesn't work. I'm an early adopter, don't want to be stranded. No real public charging infrastructure in northern VT. Will update review after using. At my main home I installed an Autel 48A maxicharge since I cant pull 80A from my home garage panel. Update: Used this charger several times with my Lyriq. Still set to 40A limit, haven't upgraded wiring yet to get 80A. Works fine. Firmware update came out and that seemed to go well. App is still lacking, if you go directly to the device IP in a browser you can access things like software current limit which isn't currently in app so at least it is there, just not as easily accessible as it should be through app.
