More importantly, my picky cat likes this litter the best
My cat is over 13 years old pushing 14. He's been crippled up since he was a kitten. He broke his pelvis when he was quite young and during the time he should have been mending, he was growing. He is a 25 pound cat that is, according to his vet, 2 pounds overweight. His rear end assembly has withered and he has the shoulders of Joe Boxer. For most of his life, he was not picky about what went into the litter pan.About a year ago, about the time I noticed his vision wasn't what it used to be, we started battling litter box wars. I've got a few problems of my own and noticed when I was down because of weather, so was he. I considered euthanasia figuring his brains must have scrambled somehow. I used expensive "cat attractants" "guaranteed to work" and utterly failed to convince the dumb animal his life depended on him using the kitty litter properly. I was a bit slow on the uptake but I finally got him a the shorter pan because he simply could no longer make the step into his tall pan he used for years. Since he has physically degenerated, he has become very picky. If the facilities are not up to his concept of acceptable hygienic standards, he simply goes on the nearest carpet or throw rug.I've bought several brands of crystals. I've bought the clumping litter. I think clumping litter makes him unstable when he tries to "assume the position." I've bought the corn/wheat/pine/paper, and any other kind of litter that has been marketed in the USA. My elderly cat likes this the best. I am the one who cleans the solids out and then covers any wet spots. He can't be bothered although he can be picky about stepping in "wet" spots in the litter. I <think> it is because he can't see that well and apparently his nose says "okay, time to stop using the litter unless you want wet feet." Doesn't matter that the instructions on the litter package are - "stir daily to lengthen the time between changing" - "make it deep enough so the cat's feet don't get wet" or whatever...my cat figures if he pees in it for 5 days, it needs to be changed. To make his wishes known, after 5 days he will pee on the working floor heater. I assure you, he does get immediate attention that way. This brand of litter works for me and my critter. I use 2 hippo sacks instead of a kitty litter liner. (Hippo sacks are soft.) I put the short litter pan in the bag and tie the handles together then fill the pan with about 3 inches which is about 8 pounds of Cat's Pride litter then back the pan against the wall so he can't claw at the tied handles. After 5 days, I untie the handles and pull the bags off the pan. The bags invert and the wet litter is then tied off ready for disposal. Repeat. We go through 40 pounds every 25 days.As for the kitty litter wars, we have a working truce. Oddly enough, this has been the cheapest solution. He is back purring as usual. He has to use stairs to get on the bed and I've made a variety of hidey-holes down low to take the place of his high perches since he can't climb any more. Euthanasia is off the table, thank goodness. We had some tense times, for sure. When you put $25 worth of litter in the box and 5 days later, the cat no longer uses the litter box...and the instructions say "good for 6 to 8 weeks." Some of the other clay litters seem to form large wet puddles on the surface. This one does get wet spots but more of the liquid seems to head for the bottom of the pan.Having an elderly animal sure can be nerve wracking.

Cheap, convenient and does the job!
Seems like decent litter. I have only ever bought cheap litter so my cat is not used to anything fancy. He has never been picky about which litter I use and he is not declawed or anything, so his paws aren't sensitive to certain litters. This litter has worked just like any other cheap litter. It doesn't clump so if your looking for that you have to get something more expensive. It doesn't have a strong smell or anything which I like. I plan on continuing to buy this because of the convenience of having it delivered and the price is good. I'm very happy with this litter.

Big value, but it dosent control odor
I like the fact that this is a big bad. It does not hold odors. I had to change my litter pan often to keep the smell down.

good stuff, not expensive, edited... they must have changed it. not so good anymore
very similar if not the same as Fresh Step cat litter.edited.. I bought another bag and it's totally different. No blue granules at all. This new litter is very fine and nothing like Fresh Step at all and I can see the difference because I have the old catbox and I just used a new bad of Cats Pride to fill up the other cat box. This one honestly looks like dirty beach sand.

My New Litter. Love this stuff! Fantastic.
I have five cats and have used a lot of different litters. I was skeptical of all the great reviews but this actually works fantastic. Low dust and low odor. I have gotten cat litters that the perfumes are overpowering. This barely had an odor on it's own and kept the litter box smell from creeping out of the room they are kept in. It doesn't get that sticky glued on effect that some litters can do either. Clumps hard and scoops easily. May cost a bit more but well worth it.

Eh
It's ok in a pinch. Has no odor protection and it's very dusty

I didn't realize how good I had it
I have been lucky with litter. I used Kitten Attract when my kitty was a baby and Precious Cat now that she's older. I didn't realize how good I had it. I bought this because it seemed like a good deal, cheaper than Precious Cat. I have learned my lesson. First of all, when I poured it there were literally clouds of dust. My cat used it a couple of times and the smell was AWFUL. She subsequently refused to use it and peed on my bed - for expediency and - I believe - retaliation. I threw it out. I honestly, truly, do not know why this gets such good reviews on Amazon.

great litter for a great price.
i like this non-clumping litter very much. (i am not a fan of clumping litter. i think one uses more and the box is never really fresh.) i have one moderately sized cat so i use a relatively small box. this litter allows me to change the box every 2-1/2 weeks or so. it never smells & is less dusty than the very expensive non-clumping litter i was using before. my cat seems to like it just fine.
