Go slow when building, and you’ll get good results
Finished product is quite solid for a teenager. Drawers are okay, closet area is OK, not huge, and right half door opens up into a hidey-hole area under about half the bed that any kid less than 15 or so will find a great hide away location. Ladder going up isn’t great, with round steps rather than flat, so suggest you park a chair in front of the stairs so yoir kid won’t hurt their feet. Desk around the side is cute, but the drawer opens in a strange way that is not helpful — and to close it abain you have to carefully click 2 tabs on either sode, very poorly designed. The instructions are fairly good. It is vitally impt you follow them SLOWLY and each step think carefully about which little piece goes where... many pages have diagrams that are confusing if you don’t follow VERRRY carefully which screw goes into which hole, or which orientation the board goes in, etc etc. Easy to screw up.In a couple of places — for the brackets that hold up the mattress bars — you need to kmake your own hole for the screw, or whack the melamine with a screwdriver to start a screwhole. Not too hard.Screwing the steps in proved impossible — their screws kept breaking. I used my own wood screws in the end.A few other glitches in the instructions ear the end.Mine arrived in 3 boxes, very carefully fit together. Be sure you open one box at a time... Do not discard anything, it might be important, e.g. the cheap cardvoard backing of the closet and drawers (I added a layer of my own.) Very easy to mix up right and left versions, look carefully for marks and labels, and compare what you are doing with the manual often.Very easy to confuse the little bits and pieces... screws, locks, pegs, etc.Overall it took me about 5 days working betwen 1/2 hour and 2 hours per day.Be aware that you cannot install this in a tiny area against a wall, you need to build it a foot or two away from a wall, and only then when it is done do you move it against 2 walls into the corner.Overall I am very very glad I built it. If your kid helps, give them a dozen little bowls and have them keep track of all the pegs and screws and bolts and things... there’s lots to do there.

Wonderfully designed bed for my toddler.
This bed is perfect for our 3 year old who has to now share her room with a newborn baby boy. I needed her to have a bed, dresser, and play space without so much furniture in the room. She loves the secret hideout underneath. Shippers damages a few areas and nothing a little putty can’t cover up.WARNING, it takes a lot of time and patience to put this thing together! Instructions are pictures only and the bags of screws and hardware are not labeled. They should reference them to a page number and keep them all separated so you know you are using the right ones. Also, make sure you start with box 1 and go in order. Don’t jump ahead or you will end up backtracking and taking things apart. This thing is HEAVY. So when you start putting the completed sections together, make sure it’s close to wear you want it! It took us 3 people and 7 hours to assemble. Also, side note, the desk drawer is a neat design with the extended surface that opens up for storing coloring books and supplies, BUT it’s hard for them to push the drawer back in once extended, it takes two hands to push in the sliders in both sides of the drawer at the same time to unlock and push back in. A toddlers arms aren’t long enough to do that alone.

Great concept, best customer support ever
This bed is a bit pricy, but I would say worth every penny. My kid loves it. The amount of space it takes is well worth it with all the storage space it brings. The materials are very sturdy, the assembly pieces are good quality as well.It does take a long time to put together, there are a lot of peices, took me at least a good 10 hours by myself. Where I would say I dedicated 2 hours just to the staircase. There were supposed to be holes in the sides of the staircase roads to screw the rods in place, there were none. Had to drill the holes myself with a thin drill head on extremely sturdy solid wood.I wish the packaging was done a bit better, there was lots of foam at the ends of the boxes but very little in the middle. One of the pieces got damaged on transit. Since there are very long pieces it is easy for this to happen.UPDATE 1/4/23: I had to call customer support as I broke some pieces while disassembling the bed for a move. Called customer support, got a real person in 5 min. They took thier time finding me the pieces, and got all of the broken ones under guarantee! I am so happy I got this bed as my kid loves it and it is actually fixable!

VERY Cheaply Made and Horrible Customer Service
Very cheaply made. They cut corners on cost every where. They didn't even bother finishing the edge of the drawer on the bottom. So 3 edges are finished but the one isn't. The drawer bottoms are like a thin cardboard. You cannot put anything heavy in the drawers. Many of the boards arrived with dents, black marks or damaged. None due to the shipping. Someone seen the damaged pieces and still packaged and sent them (no way to miss the obvious damage when packaging). Hardware is very cheap. My husband is very good with building things and this bed still sways. I would be worried with any kids over 100lbs. Never should you have more than one kid in the bed playing, the movement would make it unsafe. The lights that came with it didn't work. The drawer on the desk will break soon. It is so cheaply made. The directions can be hard to follow. The 3 boxes it arrives in are very heavy and you need a lot of space to build the bed. I read don't open box 2 and 3 until you have box one built (so you don't mix the pieces) but then we didn't notice all the damaged pieces until the bed was 1/3 built. Their customer service is horrible. We went back and forth over the same thing over and over. We were missing a piece of hardware and they could not figure out what piece it was even after I sent pictures, told them & sent pictures of where is went, sent pictures of the directions showing the part number and a picture of it. It was like they were just trying to stall to get out of the return window frame. I have wasted so much time on this cheap bed. This bed is absolutely not worth $800. Even at $300 you would be over paying.
