Everything we expected.

Fun to build
This is a great starter kit for the beginning builder. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. There were no missing pieces which for the beginners means no frustration. This is where you want to start before jumping into the 3000+ kits. Lego is the best place. to start. You learn pin placement and for the next sub assembly, meaning which way to have the slot facing and keeping the + pins perpendicular. The end product is good looking and it is a good size that you'll want to display. These 800+ kits are a good value and Lego offers many kits in this range.
