Held up
I got this to install some solid aluminum rivets. Well needless to say it was underpowered to do the rivets but I had all 275 lbs of me putting power on it and it did not break or budge in a bad way. It will definitely be handy for future projects.

Initial impressions are positive
The press arrived well-packed, all parts included and it looks exactly like the picture. It was oiled enough to prevent rusting, but not excessively so. A quick wipe-down was all that was necessary to remove it. As others have mentioned, the ram is installed upside-down, but it's a five minute job to flip it over. It was easy to remove virtually all of the play from the ram at both ends of the travel. The edges of the cutouts in the plate are somewhat rough, so I'll need to do a little file work, but that's pretty much it.This is not a piece of precision machinery, but it's built well enough for its intended purpose. I'll be putting it to work next week after I make some custom tooling for it.

Poor quality
Purchased this for stamping leather. Works fine for that intended purpose but the press itself was cracked when I received it. The parts barley stay together. Over all poor quality.

Doesn't come with everything in the pictures!
One of the reasons I specifically chose this press is that the pictures indicated that it comes with the wheel for the side opposite the lever arm. It did not come with this, significantly reducing it's value to me. If I had known this, I would have chosen a different one, and might still return it. Otherwise it is as advertised. If you want to switch the ram around, it is really fast as you just remove the sleeve opposite the lever with one set screw, remove the geared section, flip the ram, and reinstall. Took 15 seconds to do.It has a little more play than I would like. The magnetic function is literally just two neodymium magnets tossed down the bored hole of the ram (which was absolutely filthy with tons of oil and metal chips). They are not secured in any way, which is likely a good thing. Since the force is applied to them directly, they may shatter, so that makes replacement easy.Overall I am not really satisfied with this purchase, but might keep it since I'm doing really light work with it.

Sturdy, usable, and affordable
The lever arm is a but short so actually applying more than 250lbs of force will take extreme strength... but all in all a good purchase.

It does its job
Other then the ram being installed upside-down... like how does that happen? Any way easy fix does what it needs to. Using it for the grommets on kydex knife sheaths

A little grease never bothered anyone
I bought this to press frets into a guitar neck that requires a specifically designed caul. When I opened it, the first thing that I noticed when I went to attach the call is that the ram was upside down from what I needed it for. A screw driver a a few minutes later, I was in business. It performed quite well. The only caution I have is that it is quite oily. Be prepared for a few hand washes and wear clothes you're not in love with. Other than that, I'm a satisfied customer.
