Great for Refluffing--VERY Happy!
I bought this brush to refluff a pair of shearling slippers, and it worked great! I'm very happy with this purchase. The flexible head makes it easy to follow all the contours, and the 2-sided bristles worked on the footbed and the inside of the upper at the same time. Since the brush head is just 2.5 inches wide, it also fits great inside the slipper.I also used this brush to refluff my son's favorite baby toy, "Little Bear". He is now 25, and this toy bear is a favorite childhood memory because it is what he used for self-soothing. He loved it so much that we had 2 Little Bears so we always had a spare and clean bear. This brush worked great refluffing Little Bear: in the photo attached to this review, the Little Bear on the right was refluffed with this brush, and the one on the left is before refluffing.I also think this brush will work great as a slicker brush on small pets. I say small pets because the brush head is only 2.5 inches wide.

Decent
Good brush. Does slip out of the top sometimes but nothing a little glue can't fix.

I love it, but...
i have a double coated cat and this did the job perfectly! the flexibility makes it super easy to use, yet i do agree with the other reviews saying the handle easily comes apart.

This works well with the comb and double-sided rake. I am very satisfied, and my dog seems to like this one.
I hadn't anticipated what a great dog grooming tool this would be. I used to have a Golden Retriever and tried using a slicker brush on him and he just hated it. He did well with a large sized Furminator, though. Now, I have an 8 month old Mini Goldendoodle that has super long hair and fur. He looks like a big puff ball. When I first got him, I read somewhere to use a steel comb. I did that, but it wasn't getting the tangles and mats out without really hurting my dog, and I gave it up for several months. Meantime, my dog developed a number of bad mats and a lot of tangles. I have enjoyed spending money on my dog, so I looked for a variety of dog grooming tools, and the first thing I tried out was Hertzko's "dematting comb with double-sided rake." I was able to remove a whole bunch of tangles and mats with it, but the rake does pull at the mats, and cuts through the hair. I wrote a review of it, and I really like it, but I was looking for something less aggressive, and found this slicker brush, after watching a bunch of videos on YouTube, where a couple of people showed how you can just slowly brush at a mat and get it to untangle, instead of going the aggressive route and pulling at it with a rake. The rake did an awesome job of removing most of the bad stuff, but this slicker is really finishing off the project of getting all the mats and tangles out after several months of not combing or brushing. My dog doesn't back away as much, and even seems to like it, sort of. He comes up and sniffs at it, then sits next to me, and doesn't seem to mind too much if I stroke his hair with this slicker. The slicker does not cut through hair. The ends of it are very flexible and won't hurt your dog, so long as you brush sideways and don't bring it down hard on his skin. The best use for it is to pick away at a bad mat until it starts falling apart. Then use the comb to get out loose hair from the spot where the mat was. You can also use the comb to get hair out of the slicker brush. So these three items are all that I need to groom my dog: the steel comb, the dematting rake, and the slicker. I chose to get Hertzko stuff because it looks solid, and I like the purple and gray color. I do all my dog grooming on the sofa, and just wait to get my dog sitting net to me, then I start using the tools. He jumps up and runs away sometimes, much less with the slicker. And he can get "bitey," but I'm trying to train him out of being bitey. The slicker, I should add, really makes your dog's hair look totally fluffy and flowing. But if your dog has any mats, the one thing you need to be aware of is that it takes time and patience to get them out. You may not be able to get them out in one sitting. For me, it's taken about ten days to get most of them out. So the thing to do is go slowly and get them out, and then resolve to spend time every day or as often as possible working with the tools to keep your dog mat-free. Please note: I did not get the Hertzko dog grooming tools for free! My review is only based on my own experiences with these tools, and I will update if I see any problem with any of them. One thing I will note is that I also bought the long-bladed rakes, but they are very sharp and they scare me. If you have a very patient dog maybe those would work for you. But these three tools - the comb, double-sided rake, and the slicker, seem to do everything I need to get my dog free of mats and tangles. I should also add that I didn't know the slicker brush was so "flexible"! It bends completely on both sides, which is different from most slickers that are stiff, and makes it really easy to use.

Too sharp
My dog does not like being brushed. This is a little sharp for her liking. The old one I have is not flexible but does have minute little balls at the end of the times so it is gentler

Works well on my poodle
I watched a poodle grooming video and saw this type of slicker recommended. It works great! My dog is one week shy of his 9 1/2 week groomer appointment and his tight curls are hard to deal with. I brush him against the growth-grain with short strokes and this brush is better than any other brush or comb I've tried. It's hard to tell in the photo, but his curls are pulled out and fluffier in the right-hand picture. It feels good in my hand and I like the flexibility. It's like a fail-safe against hurting your dog, yet it still penetrates his hair.

Defective Brush-Many Customers have had the same problem. Buyer Beware.
After using the brush for about five minutes the pad separated from the top of the brush. I looked back on the reviews of the product and discovered that the problem I had with the brush was a common issue. The seller responded to my message but was not very helpful. The problem with the brush is known to the seller, but they continue to sell a defective product. I resent the fact that if I want a refund I have to drive 20+ minutes to a drop off- especially since a proven defective product continues to be sold. I had another brand of double sided slicker brush that had both sides affixed to the flexible center-unlike this brush- and it stayed intact and lasted for many years.

Great for pets, also works on faux fur
I was specifically looking for one of these without blunt tips on the pins because I use them on faux fur rugs and my kid's fuzzy stuffies as well as the pets. Nothing gets tangles out nearly as well. The flex on this brush is great for making it gentle on the pets and they seem to enjoy it... My cat has been following me around yelling to get brushed for days. It also seems to strip less fuzz out than other slicker brushes I've used and it's easy to clean the pins off.Photos included of before and after on one of the rugs I used it on. This didn't take a long time and this rug was cheap, four years old, and was accidentally dried after washing so it was completely matted. No matting left now. Same rug, different lighting, no other tools or products used.
