Fenton A-Z (Schiffer Book for Collectors)

She loves this book. A lot of info. Different than other Fenton books/guides.

More information than I thought

I bought this book mostly to figure out different pattern, color, and shape names of Fenton pieces I own as I get ready to sell them, but it’s missing several pieces I have colors, both color and shape. Also, many of the pictures are off. I get that you can’t have huge 4K photos of every single piece, otherwise the book would be huge. However that means that the photos you DO have should be accurate and clear, but they aren’t. The lighting in many of the pictures makes the colors look completely different than they actual lookin person, making it difficult to match. It also makes some colors hard to distinguish between each other. Also, many of the pictures are blurry or are so small you cannot see the patterns on the pieces. If you can’t see the patterns or colors of the pieces in the pics, how are you supposed to compare them to your own pieces? Overall, this book didn’t end up being very helpful and I am likely going to return it.

I would like to give this five stars but, there’s one bit of information that (in my opinion) would make utilizing the book easier. By not knowing all of the pattern terminology it is a bit difficult and time consuming in finding the accurate information. An index of the various Fenton products (i.e. Fairy Lamp, Epergne, Shoe etc) would make the search easier.Other than that,the book is quite informative and the photos are amazing. I would recommend this book to other Fenton lovers/collectors.
