Comfortable for all day use (oh thank you rubberised soul
There comes a point in a young (or old) man's life when he feels the need to gain gravitas - to become the type of person who enters a room to hushed silence and polite coughing. On such occasions I find a decent pair of shoes will confer upon the wearer the nearing of a heavyweight professional - a man of means in charge of his destiny - in such times only a pair of black brogues will suffice. The wearer of a pair of black brogues, such as the pair you see before you, can be asked any variety of question and you maybe assured that the answer they will give is correct and accurate to within a tenth of a millimetre. Now usually, and I say usually but not without exception, a pair of historic brogues can and might be purchased on Bond St, or on Jermyn St or on the odd occasion they may even be found in the scented pastures of Floral St WC1. However, there may well be times when such an expenditure may not be within one's means. Therefore allow me to assure you that this humble, almost innocuous pair of brogues will create precisely the right impression, upon yourself as you gaze lovingly down upon your newly clad feet, and upon all those who you choose to encounter.Having bought these remarkable boots I find myself quite the fan, and gaze at them often in appreciation. Comfortable for all day use (oh thank you rubberised soul!) and yet as sharp as a tack, never losing their lustre even in the shadiest of British weather (which of course, they were designed for). They are also well-lined, so warm in the depths of winter, and yet so quiet I can creep past my landlady without her ever noticing I still owe two months rent. I give five stars! The first star is for style - they cut quite a dash poking out of the seats on the 7:44 am to VictoriaThe second star is for price - They represent money well spent, by the wayThe third star is for robust build quality - oh well done to whomsoever made these, be it hard-working elves or bearded Italian cobbler: bravo! The fourth star is for blackness - they are as dark as night, or crude oil spilled into the black night and a cruel seaThe fifth star is for (as Michael Jackson so eloquently put it) the way you make me feel: taller, smarter and certain of my purpose. In these excellent boots, I walk the line.

Great style and comfortable
Firstly, I read a few reviews who said to buy a size smaller, I didn’t and I haven’t found the boots to be too big, but just about rightWhat I did initially think though was that the boots were narrow, but on loosening the laces, and getting my feet in I haven’t found that to be a problemThe boots are stylish and great value. The colour is maybe a little light for my own taste, but I purchased a brown shoe shine stick and this has brought the colour down a little and added a nice sheenBefore colouring the boots I did see that the leather didn’t look to be waterproof, but I’m thinking with the colouring and shine, this may add some weatherproofing, but the boots are and so still won’t be waterproof and are more of a fashion boot, this is also bourne out by the flat sole, with no grip, so the boots aren’t wet weather boots. Not a problem for me as I knew this before buyingOverall I’m very impressed with the boots, stylish, comfortable, functional and great value

Good boot, good price just go small
Decided to write a quick review as the other reviews I read for these boots were very useful as a guide to sizing options and my purchase. The boots I purchased were at around the £26 mark, which for the price are very good quality and arrived within a few days on free P&P. I'm normally a size 9.5 to 10 but after reading reviews on size I ordered a size 9 which is a size smaller. At this smaller size they area very good fit. The quality is very good with nice brown leather uppers and man made soles. The leather is a little stiff and not soft or supple, however I would have thought that these will be a good long lasting boot once broken in.The boots look good on and after a couple of days should wear in nicely. As a comparative I would price these boots in the £50 to £60 price bracket in high street shops.Overall very good quality at a very good price, just make sure you go for the smaller size option.

Excellent Boot - READ SIZING INFO BELOW.
Excellent Boots, received 2 days after ordering (when 4-5 days was estimated)I echo the sentiments of the other Gents reviews. I looked online at many smart/casual boots including on Mr Porter and plumped for a cheaper option....no regrets, if you don't mind non-leather soles and heels, these are very nice boots and in no way look £35. Having bought shoes before for £400 these, for their purpose, are excellent.THE SIZING - Footwear buying online is notoriously difficult so I read many of the reviews before purchasing and ordered a size smaller than I usually take, as recommended, I am a size 12 with wide'ish feet so I ordered an 11. The size 11 boots are still quite large and I could have possibly fitted into a 10. When compared to another pair of my [comfortable] size 12 shoes they are the same length so I think it boils down to them overall being a generous fit. I bought these for winter and a winter trip so I am happy thick socks will also fit inside. I would also urge you buy a size smaller and perhaps the seller will consider putting a cm measurement up for the sizes to assist buyers in making an educated decision.

Love love love these. Really great purchase.
I may be one of the very few females purchasing these boots for themselves but I was looking for a definite "boyish" brogue boot to wear with my skinny jeans. I had looked at various price ranges up to £120 but figured how often would I actually wear them? Read all reviews and then opted to purchase the size 6. I am a size 6 and these are generous fitting which I prefer as I hate my feet feeling trapped. I'm able to wear a decent medium thickness sock with these and they feel so comfortable. I'm going to swap the laces for red ones as I want a particular look. I paid £26.99 for these and I'm truly pleased and amazed how good they look and feel for the money. The distressed leather look is pretty accurate of the pictures and just what I was looking for. Very very pleased I took a chance. My purchased was based on the great reviews and size choice too.
