Very High Quality And Beautiful Martin House!!
I’ve wanted a Martin house for many years now, but never found the one I wanted. I decided in the BestNest 18 room Martin house.Assembly was a bit tedious, so instead of using the assembly screws the comes with it, I decided to pop rivet it together instead. It looks fantastic and a very robust Martin house.I also bought a 15’ Martin house pole from BestNest. I set the pole and pole sleeve in concrete, per BestNest’s instructions, and then mounted the Martin house a couple days later. We already have six Purple Martins and we’re so excited!!

Best Way to House your Purple Martin Neighbors
The photo shows the former home of Herb and Rosie Martin. On May 7th their home was destroyed by a tornado. Our house suffered severe damage as well but was still livable. Many homes in our area were not inhabitable including Herb and Rosie’s. Luckily the Martins weren’t at home when the twister hit which allowed me time to rebuild their house. The Heath Outdoor Purple Martin House was a perfect replacement. It features 12 room so the kids don’t have to share and still leaves room for guests. Delivery was prompt and assembly wasn’t too difficult. Of course I let Larry do that but I was there to lend moral support. Herb and Rosie are thrilled with their new home.

came in a lot of pieces

Ok at best.
If you dislike someone a lot buy them this birdhouse and give it to them. All hardware not included, some pieces are damaged. The biggest issue is the different levels don’t connect to each other.

Looks great!
Relatively easy to assemble. Looks great and much better than the more commons ones made of corrugated plastic.

Think twice
Very thin metal. Must have tiny fingers and a lot of patience to put together. Not enough nuts were provided. Definitely worth paying more to have a sturdier house that is already built.

Thin and flimsy
It is not worth the price. The metal is thin and flimsy.

I have had this exact birdhouse for 12 years and am very happy with it but a very high snow storm this winter bent the pole over and then the house crashed to the ground. When I ordered a new pole, I decided to order a new house to the one that took the tumble. As everyone else stated, this takes a few hours to assemble because of the nut/bolt assembly system. It comes knocked down as a series of panels. They fit together very well and as long as you follow the instructions, it goes smoothly. If you are impatient and clumsy, don't get this item as it will make you a blood donor with the many exposed sharp edges during assembly. Once together, it's a very solid and well made item.My first martin house is still in fairly good shape, though the finial is gone. We have a large property and open field in a wet area where bugs abound, so the martins just love this area and you can watch them swooping over the field for hours gulping up bugs. When I mow the field, the martins are in a non-stop dive bomb at my tractor because I kick up so many bugs it's like an all you can eat free for all for the birds.Patience is a virtue in assembly. The end product will make the investment of a few hours well worth it, but it does take time so don't plan on knocking this down in an hour unless you've assembled hundreds of these before. The nuts and bolts are tiny and the assembly is awkward to handle while putting it all together. This will last well over ten years and the only threat to it's longevity is wind and something falling on it.
