Q: I am ordering this sheet set, but I need two more pillowcases. Can I purchase those separately ?

I was able to order extra pillowcases as they now offer them (standard or king)

Q: These sheets have a terrible smell when I opened the package. Will this wash off after the first wash?

This seems to be a really common problem across brands and most say that the smell disappears after a wash (can always throw some baking soda and vinegar in just to be sure). All bed sheets should be washed prior to use but many people don't bother to do that. Maybe the odor is intentional — to remind people to wash them?

Q: How do they do with pet hair?

We have cats and they do not mind the sheets at all. As a matter of fact one of them even crawls between them at times. The sheets wash up beautifully and have not noticed any "clumping" of the fine hairs as I do on other bedding items.

Q: Is the elastic encased in the sheet material or just stitched on? One set of photographs indicated that the maker switched from encasing to not.

It looks like the manufacturer has changed from sewn-in (encased) elastic to sewn-on elastic, like the waistband on underwear. It's a strange look. I guess the sewn-on method shaves off a couple cents from the labor or materials!
