Love this cookbook!
I initially purchased this cookbook because the one of the 'Curried Greens" recipe was circulating online, and I tried it and liked it. So, I thought I might like more of her recipes. I am so glad I purchased this book (used on Amazon). I have been eating a plant-based diet for 2 years now, because it significantly has all but eliminate my rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune problems. Neva's recipes are simply fantastic. I do not eat store brand "meat substitutes" like Tofurky products, etc. cause the ingredients almost always contain some amount of processed oils. Her meat substitute (home-made seitan) is quite good, easy to make with few ingredients, oil free and quite tasty! (I avoid processed oils in my diet, as they significantly impact the way I feel. See [...] for more info, if that interest you.) What a delight to find Neva does not use any processed oils in her recipes! It's worth purchasing this book for her "Simple Butter" recipe alone. I have really missed having every now and then a pat of butter on my baked potato or vegetables, and her home-made recipe (made w/coconut milk) is absolutely FANTASTIC. Even my 12-year old son said he prefers it to "real butter". The only added change I made was that I add a slight couple of dashes of turmeric to give it a tad more yellow color, which he says makes it look like "New Zealand" butter (cause their butter is significantly more yellow than American butter!) It is also great on toast. Another favorite recipe is her "sliceable cheese" recipe, which is soy-free. I am not a fan of soy cheese. Her home-made cheese recipe costs much less to make, tastes better, and even melts on pizza. You can also choose to make it yellow or white, to tailor to your dish. And another recipe of hers that my kids absolutely love is her simple cheese sauce recipe. Their favorite way to eat it is on macaroni and cheese, and my son said he liked it better than the (horribly-bad-for-you) boxed Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we used to eat before I changed our diet. You can purchase this cookbook very inexpensively on Amazon, including shipping. It's worth it. A couple non-food related notes -- it is a Seventh-Day Adventist publication, so you will see occasional quotations from their church leaders about the need to eat a more healthy diet (something I would agree with, so the quotes don't bother me.) Also, while she does not use processed oils in her recipes, she does use a lot of coconut milk. So, her recipes are not necessarily fat-free or low-fat. But, they are definitely oil-free, which is what I was looking for. Enjoy!!

Great cookbook!
I love this cookbook. I watch YouTube videos, I search the Internet, and I keep coming back to this book. All the basics are in this one book. There is so much information. I would consider this a primer for beginners through advanced. I can’t say enough about this book! Love the cheese sauces and cashew cream. Thank you so much for all the information!!!!!

Eat Healthy & Change Your Health
Recipes are simple and very easy to follow. I originally bought this book from young man selling them door to door. I was so impressed that I ordered 2 more for Christmas gifts. They liked the book so much that I tried to order more for rest of family. Alas, only able to purchase one more. Now I feel guilty because I want to keep my copy instead of giving to another family member. Hopefully Amazon will soon have more of them.Anyone trying to improve their health with their diet instead of taking expensive prescription drugs will love this book. My granddaughter tries a new recipe every day and loves them all. Source of any spedical ingredient is listed in the back of the book. Most, if not all, can be purchased from Amazon and you can find them at a health food store and some are available at Oriental stores.This book is a "must have" for anyone with diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and many other health conditions.

Great cookbook
A cookbook written with love as a family project. They obviously have a lot of experience-having had a popular restaurant.Very interesting health info and I thought the recipes I've tried were delicious and healthy-there is so much variety. Great ideas on how to prepare nice meals for guests!

Great for New Vegetarians, Vegans & Plant Based Eaters
I have gifted this book to many friends, because I think that it is a great introductory cookbook. There are recipes on how to make your own "chickn" seasoning, tofu sour cream, cashew cheese sauce, plant based butter and more, to avoid processed foods. There is a shopping list and meal planning guide in the back of the book. Cheers to good health!

Best cookbook I own!
I have accumulated quite a few vegan cookbooks over the past couple of years. This is by far the best vegan cookbook I own. Low fat, low sugar, high fiber and delicious! There is a lot of valuable information regarding reversing diabetes with diet in this book. The recipes are familiar, easy to create and use ingredients that anyone can find at a regular grocery store. I appreciate that this book does not rely on meat substitutes but is based on whole foods. Substitutions are given if you do not wish to use tofu, coconut or wheat. This book is a must for every kitchen, whether you want to eat healthier or want to totally eliminate meat from your diet. I can't give enough praise for this book.

Best vegan cookbook yet!
It's hard to review a cookbook because it takes some time to make enough of the recipes to give it an accurate review.We've made a few of the recipes thus far and each one has been a hit with my husband and three little girls-not easy to do!The recipes are good and so far easy enough for me to make (and my husband who is laid off), though there are more involved recipes if you choose. I especially love this book because of it's a whole foods, low fat, no "fake-y" ingredients style. They have great recipes for things like vegan mayo. The store version makes me gagg...but the recipe they have is great!Thus far the best vegan cookbook I have found!
