Depends on your application . . .
This worked for me (so far). My use is really just cosmetic. Some of my epoxy paint separated from the galvanized and I had a big ugly metal spot in the middle of the pool. I didn't want to do a new paint job yet so I'm seeing this as a temporary patch. As you see in the picture, it is not a direct match for my paint, but it's an upgrade over looking at a patch of galvanized metal. The vinyl is fairly thin and the sticky side seems to adhere pretty well to my surfaces (galvanized metal and sanded epoxy paint) but I suspect this would not work as a patch. Just applied so we'll see how long it lasts.

So Far, So Good
This patch is for large gashes or slashes, that have damaged your pool inflatables, or pool liner. We’ve used this on two large slashes on our inflatable pool slide. The patch is a large, very tough, and durable, vinyl piece that is very large. The adhesive is already applied to the back of the patch, so no additional brushes, or glues are needed for use.Installation could really not be easier. The area that is to be repaired needs to be cleaned thoroughly. I used some alcohol, and wipe down the area well, dried it with a paper towel, and let it air dry for about a half hour more just for good measure. After drying, I cut the patch, with about 2 to 3 inches of overlap. After peeling off the backing, I pressed the patch to the gash, and used a paint, stirring stick to press, and rub any wrinkles out of the patch. It’s important that there’s no wrinkles, that can cause gaps in the patch. Once on, and securely adhered to the slide, I let it cure overnight to set the adhesive. The next day, I added more air to the slide, and the patch held firmly, and has been since. This patch repair kit, has functioned as advertised. Since this has saved our slide from going in the trash thus saving from having to buy a new one, this product has been a terrific value for the price!

Very thin and weak
This is so flimsy and weak. It's very thin. Don't buy if you have a decent size patch to make.

NOT FOR UNDERWATER PATCHING
This would work good for floats and pools if drained. It DOES NOT work for under water patches so please don’t buy if that’s what you need.

Worked for air mattress, on smooth, non fuzzy part
So sadly, the hole in my air mattress that I needed to patch, was not fixable with this. The way my mattress is made, there is excess plastic inside, that they used to create a texture/support spots on the top of the mattress... and the top is fuzzy, so i couldnt use this patch on the inside, or the outside... However, the cut I made in the side, smooth section of the air mattress to gain access to the inside.. this patch worked perfectly to fix. Easily just cut to size, slapped it on like tape, and it sealed flawlessly. No leaks there... unfortunately, the original hole is still leaking.

Works on bounce house too
Actually, I got this to repair our bounce house - one of those small, at home, 2 kid version - and it’s been great! Our dog put a large gash in the front side of the inflatable, and this patch fixed it right up! You know it has to be good if it can withstand literal constant airflow blowing onto it, extra exerted pressure from kids jumping inside, and kids sliding down over it.It’s like a giant sticker where you just peal off the back non-sticky part. It came with two tubes of PVC glue, but I’m not sure what that’s for. Maybe in the long run, if the edges come up, I can use the glue to adhere it back down? It would be nice if it had instructions for FAQs, but it’s self explanatory for the most part.

Maybe shop for other options…
Sold as self-adhesive, and it is to a certain degree. However, even the seller is not sufficiently confident about this, so tubes of cement are included “just in case”.Hmm, if they aren’t confident, why should I trust it?
