I like lower tier high end audio equipment and am willing to pay 4 figures for a set of speakers or an audio system if it gives great value for the money. I have had electrostatic speakers, very nice head phones and earbuds and love rocking low end Martin Logan speakers. I wasn't too sure what to think of a blue tooth set of ear buds, but these Edifier Neobuds Planar blew me away. They are almost equal to my Sennheiser open backed headphones that are much larger and 2 times the price. They sound AMAZING.The good:The sound is A+++The earbuds have a ton of features and they all workThe case is nice and feels premiumThe buds are attractive and stylishThe highs and the mids are heaven sentThey perform as well gaming as they do for musicThey are very immersive and have a great sound stageThey feel good in the ear and can be worn for long periods of time with out discomfortThe sound isolation on calls is very good and you won't get that loud wind noise on callsBattery life is good and the battery case will keep you listening for a long whileThe app is nice and you can do a lot with it.They are easy to pairDid I mention the sound is phenomenal? Better than any ear buds I have tried in this price range.The not so good:They do not produce enough base to make baseheads happy. These sound more like a monitor with super clear highs and mids and enough base to keep me happy, but if you are a base person these may not work for you.The EQ could be better for personalizing soundThe functions work, but other ear buds in this price range do them as well.Summary:These Neobuds Planar are all about the sound and excel at producing rich, clear sound that is pretty magical. They aren't for fans of heavy base or club music though. They have tons of great functions that work well, but you aren't buying these for the functions, you are buying them for the sound. I couldn't be happier with them and their clarity.

These earbuds are really comfortable they fit well in my year and the stem design helps the weight distribution and keeps them from slipping out of my ears. The only planar headphones I have are my sundaras and I've never tried a planar in a iem but so far I'm happy with it. The eq in the app really lets you tune the driver to whatever you want with an actual eq and not just presets. The driver sounds really good it's responsive and I don't hear and distortion regardless of The eq settings. The case feels premium and hefty there's a adjustable light on the case which you can adjust the color in the app and it's easy to carry around. The earbuds handle calls well and I haven't had any complaints. Overall I'm really happy with these earbuds the first product I bought from edifier was there 1280 speakers which were the cheapest decent speakers I could find and they still work after all these years so I'm sure these earbuds will do fine over time.

I am a big fan of Planar drivers! So, when the opportunity to test out the Edifier NeoBuds Planar popped up in my feed, I immediately submitted my request. Out of the box you are provided with the standard complement of TWS items. You get the TWS buds, a charging case, short USB cable for charging, and various sizes of tips that should suit most people. Build quality is good and on par with other, premium TWS devices like those from Sennheiser and Bose. The charging case does fit in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans, but still larger than others on the market.Prior to pairing with my device, I downloaded the Edifier ConneX App (kind of confusing as there were multiple versions in the app store). Pairing once the correct app was installed went flawlessly. The App has some handy features, most notable being a more robust equalizer than I have ever come across from a TWS device. Other features include ANC and button controls. Overall the app is better than many I have tried.IEM fitment is solid using out of the box tips. I never had any issue with movement or slipping when running or doing daily activities. The only issue I initially had using the default tips was a length-mode issue where the seal would facilitate vibrations traveling throughout. this was most noticeable when walking. I was able to remedy this issue by switching tips and have not had the issue since.The sound quality of the NeoBuds is nothing shot of excellent! This is incredible for a True Wireless IEM. While not neutral, the default tuning is well balanced to my ears. This is vastly different than most other devices I've tested which tend to have overblown bass and wonky timbre. With the NeoBuds Planar, you get clean bass that goes into the sub-bass region with texture and crispness. the mids are a little reserved, but come across naturally and well presented. The upper end is lively and engaging without becoming overly shouty or tinny. This is one of the best default tunings I have come across in a wireless device in a long time, and with the ability to tweak it with EQ, the sky is the limit.As much as I love the sound, the same cannot be said about the ANC. While it is acceptable, it is far less competitive with other industry leaders. I also found that it would become increasingly compromised if I touched the IEM to change songs or adjust the volume. I am sure that adjustments can be made with a firmware update, but currently, the ANC is my least favorite feature.The battery life of the device is good, but not exceptional when compared to some competitors. I do not hold this against the NEOBuds though as planar magnets can take more power to drive, in addition to having a high fidelity codec built in that can also reduce battery life. All that being said, I usually have to charge the case once, and occasionally twice, a week. This does not impact the convenience of the buds as most of the time I wirelessly charge the case as it is QI compatible.Overall, I am very happy with the Edifier NeoBuds Planar. They sound fantastic, and have become my go to buds for listening to music around the house. If audio quality is your number one priority, then you should seriously consider the Edifier NeoBuds Planar
