Deer be gone!
This works great. The deer aren't even touching the hosta which is normally a lovely salad for them. You do have to reapply after rain unlike liquid fence but the scent is so much more pleasant to the human nose.

Really does work to control deer damage!
Using Deer Stopper 2 is the only peace of mind I have against a small herd of seven deer, plus new offspring. The product has improved its odor and still seems to repel deer. I did start super early in the spring, and kept reapplying after hard rainfall, which this year was almost constant! Although I spent more money on this product than in previous years, I have had better results by being diligent. I just had gotten so disgusted by being controlled by these deer, as well as being concerned about deer ticks. I also paired this product with the available tape offered by the same company. That was a win-win for my yard and myself.

Deerly Departed!
If you have a consistent deer problem, you likely have tried several products or methods of deterring deer from treating your shrubs and flower beds as their own personal salad bar.First off, I want to say I believe that a starving deer will eat just about any green it can. I have a few junipers that are painful just to touch, and I can only imagine trying to chew on one or ingest it. However, during a very harsh winter, I have seen the deer chomp away at these plants which they normally avoid. In that situation, nothing short of preventing them access to your property will work.I have found success with several deer repellant products. I think the important thing is not always the product itself but timing. Here's what I mean. If the local stores sell you Product A, that means all your neighbors are buying that same repellent. So, for a short while it might be effective, but eventually the deer have to eat, and they become used to the odor, etc. So if you keep using the same product year after year, or even if its new to you, but has been sold by your local stores for some time, you may have mixed results. So what I typically do is I go to my local hardware store and see what they sell, and I check with my Home Depot to see what they stock. Then I go to Amazon.com and buy something different, naturally something with good reviews!Anyway, back to Deer Solution. The product comes in a jug containing 32 ounces of concentrated formula. It is advertised as covering 10,000 square feet. By following the mixing instructions (1 part solution, 9 parts water) you will make about 2 ½ gallons of the repellent. I find I use about 80 ounces of spray (8 ounces of solution, 72 ounces of water) for one full application on my property. That's to spray about 60 small ground cover plants/flowers, about a dozen perennial flowers, and 40 large shrubs. I respray if we have more than one heavy rain, or once I see new growth/buds. Lacking rain, I spray about every 3 weeks.I have found Deer Solution to be effective. It may be no more effective than other similar products, as the basis for most of these is egg solids in various stages of rotting. But what is nice about Deer solution is it has a heavy cinnamon scent. So when you spray it, you will actually notice the scent of cinnamon on larger shrubs near your doorways, etc. It has no nasty odor!Like most repellent, Deer Solution is not cheap. If you want to experiment, you make actually make your own repellent at home. Fill a gallon jug with a raw, beaten egg and water. Initially the egg need not be rotten, but keep refilling the jug after you spay, adding an egg when you refill. The egg will rot and it will smell pretty bad, but it will typically deter deer. You will need to respray frequently if it rains, but the cost is low so you still may spend less than a pre-made product.I am not suggesting you do this instead of buying Deer Solution, just making an observation about what one can do at home with simple ingredients. If you want something effective but very pleasant smelling, go with Deer Solution.

I've been using this for years because it works!
I found this deer repellent at my local Agway store back when it was called "Deer Solution." The makers of "Deer Stopper #1" bought them out with good reason. Now it's called "Deer Stopper II" but it is the same formula. Our house is set way back from the street on almost 7 acres, surrounded by forest. Lots of deer and critters in our yard. I mix up a batch of repellent (concentrate plus water) and spray the perennials and annuals. I've watched the deer nibble on a sprayed plant and then spit it out, then smell it on the other plants and then walk away! Deer Stopper II has saved my hosta, tall phlox, coleus, and other plants the deer love to eat. It has a nice fragrance, too, unlike other smelly deer repellents. The directions say to spray plants when no rain is expected for 24 hours and after 2" of growth. The rain does not wash off the spray. I sprayed every few weeks just to be safe. A quart could last me a whole growing season depending on how much rain we got and how fast everything grew. Highly recommended!

Have tried everything…this one works
We live in western North Carolina and our deer population is enormous. I’ve tried every deer repellent on the market as well as the homemade concoctions that are all over the internet. This Deer Stopper II is literally the only thing that works for me. Once in a blue moon we’ll see very slight browsing but it’s as if they take a little nibble and immediately leave. I love the deer but when you’ve got a small herd, 10 or 12, in your yard every evening they can destroy your landscaping. I hope this product continues to work for us. So far so good!

Works for my deer so far!
This product has saved my baby fruit trees this year so far and I have tried so many options over the last couple years. This year, I tried this and another spray and they have been the only things that really work. I prefer this one because it has a clove scent with only a bit of funk and is not as icky smelling as the other one that smells purely like rotten eggs. My understanding is when the deer get hungry they may not care but at least I got my trees through spring and part of summer so they have half a chance of growing taller than the deer can reach eventually!
