I was concerned about the thickness of the zinc but was pleasantly surprised that it is nearly as thick as aluminum step flashing so it was quite easy to slide up under my shingles close to the ridge. I am hoping it works over the summer to help keep moss / mold / lichen under control, especially on the north sides of the roof.

Install with adhesive NOT nails
No need to destroy your roof installing this zinc strip. Odds are your existing roof shingles are already sealed together making it impossible to underlay the roofing nails for the strip without risking real damage prying up the shingles. We used clear gorilla glue adhesive instead to bond the zinc strip to the roof and then temporarily held the strip in place with duct tape. Remove the tape the following day after the adhesive has cured and you're good to go. You will need two people for this install, one to unroll and hold the zinc strip and the other to apply the adhesive and press the strip. Snug the zinc strip right up to and below the top shingle row edge so rainwater will not be impeded. Have A LOT of rags handy to wipe away excess adhesive.
