Got me, too.
I should have read the other reviews. This shifter needs to mount to i-spec II brake handles. So, I can't use them!The item description is not clear about this.

I spec ii mount
This shifter looks good but in the description is didnt say it was i spec ii mount. i spec ii mounts meaning it connects with brake lever into 1 mount on handle bar fyi.
