2 Pound Fresh Garlic USA California Heirloom Gilroy Finest, Pack of 2

I am biased as I lived in Salinas, CA and got transfered to Morgan Hill next door to Gilroy and would drive by their roadside store if I needed to return to main office. I always had fresh Christopher Ranch garlic. I moved back to Austin in '89 and missed having Gilroy Garlic. I would get deliveries from friends and family but lately I had to rely on Florida garlic. When I saw these on-line I had to order and the quality is how I remember it fresh. The tags state picked Jan 2025 and they always let it dry a bit before selling. Worth the price. Each bag has 21 and 22 large bulbs 15 and 16 we're like the ones pictured, 5 were without the outer skin and 1 in each bag were starting to sprout. You can eat sprouting garlic and maybe higher in antioxidants. I did not see any mold and the smell was fresh garlic. I plan to use them fresh, remove the skins (which I save for garlic powder) and vacuum seal / freeze some, let some dry out to make garlic powder, dehydrate some and plant some in containers for future crop as I live in an apartment. I would love to make garlic ice cream as that was a favorite at the garlic festival. I make potato skin soup and usually use two cloves of other garlic sold here in Austin and decided to put one clove of Gilroy Garic and found it to be stronger. I will have to work in getting my tolerance back up to eat more. I do hope to see the garlic bloom again.

I wanted to give Christopher Farms garlic a 5 star. I bought two bags of garlic, one contained large beautiful bulbs, the other bag contained the smallest worse looking bulbs I've ever seen. Christopher farms sells an excellent product, but that's not what Amazon sent me on half of the order. From now on I'll use a different vendor, for my Christopher farms products. I'll buy from The garlic shoppe. I used Amazon because it was easy.

I like this brand & have had it in the past. It usually is very fragrant, fresh, flavorful, tight bulbs with large cloves. I've had bad experiences with buying this garlic online as of late. Unfortunately, for me, this is my only option in obtaining this product. I'd tried it via a friend a few times & finally decided to buy my own. The first time, I bought it here & it was majority great. It had some bad bulbs & cloves but, overall was a good haul. The second time, I bought from another site that batch WAS HORRIFIC. Bugs infested rotted,, moldy, TINY bulbs was the whole batch. I couldn't bring myself to even try & find a few salvageable cloves. The third & most recent bag I bought, brought me back to the first bag I bought which was from here. Ironically, from same seller. This bag though, wasn't as bad as the second bag but, CERTAINLY was NOT NEARLY as good as the first. I am so disappointed because I still have to wait on the garlic (money reasons) & be without. This means, I have to try AGAIN, to buy at a later date with hopes of a better harvest to be sold to me. However, the seller of the first & third bags is great. Their communication & promptness in addressing the matters is almost stellar. I am hoping that I can try one last time with them in hopes of getting the great quality I once WAS familiar with. I have a feeling this product's brand is being "handled" by AND with "non USA", yet, USA approved/protected/partnered unsavory practices & "treatments". After all, the garlic capitol, Cali is "alleged" to be ........ Soooo, yeah, that part. Lastly, despite, the seller's faux pas with this order, I must still give them credit for both the first order I bought from them AND for their wonderful customer service. After all, they aren't responsible for the second time I bought this (from someone & somewhere else. They're only responsible for the 1st & 3rd purchases. In closing, give this seller a try & get you some of this usually, deliciously, top notch garlic.

Just Received The Order, Packing Secure Only Down Side 13 Batches Had Gone Bad But My Daughter Has Plant Uses For Them So I Didn't Waste Product Or Money & The 10 I Cooked With For Burgers Were Great. Will Purchase Again.
