Feels like a solid shoe made in the 80's
Seems solid. I was using Merrils but prolly some dirtbag bought out the company and those leak now. These seem a lot more solid. Fits slightly big to size

Good looking,.sturday
Waterproof, good looking, sturdy, with a sole that seems like it will last. Way better than those odd looking jungle mocs with the soles that wear out so quickly

Tough Shoe
These are decent shoes that are moderately comfortable. would still recommend inserts.

9.5 shoe fitted a 9.5 foot - thankfully
My husband has a standard, non-pointy 9.5M foot except for a very high instep. These fit him well, including with cotton athletic socks on. Been receiving online ordered shoes that are off-size in length lately. I can forgive the mid-area width not fitting since that’s a charming but nonetheless abnormal feature of his feet (which he claims is a sign of aristocratic blood). But what the heck is going on with off-sizing within the same brand? Timberland isn’t the only one. He loved the last Timberland leather ankle boots I ordered him 2 weeks ago in 9.5 but claimed they felt a full 2 half-sizes too long so had to return them. Yes, I checked the label to be sure. These hiking shoes look really nice. Tread looks great for light day hiking here in Southern CA and pretty much everywhere. Quality construction from what I can see but I’ll update this review if something goes wrong later like the sole and leather upper start separating as I’ve seen in reviews of a few other Timberlands recently but not this model so far. Just got them but thought I’d let people know the sizing in this one is accurate at least for 9.5. Another trip to UPS avoided.

Well constructed, but odd fit and stiff tongue
As a lot of other reviewers noted, the finish on these shoes is a deep chocolate brown unfinished matte look, which I think is very attractive. The shoes are well constructed, but the fit is odd:- a little tight in the front- very loose in the back.- a very high and stiff tongueI worth these for a couple of hours around the house just to get a feel. I really wanted them to work because I liked the look. Unfortunately, the tongue bites into my ankle, just above the bridge. My guess is that this would loosen up over time as the show molds to your foot. For me, the heel area seemed very wide and I found myself "sloshing around" in the shoe.Again, all shoe fit in personal, and I would encourage you give these a try because of the excellent construction and smart look.Caveat: I wear a 10.5~11, since I insert orthotic arch supports, I ordered an 11, if you don't use arch supports, the fit will be very different.
