Very lightweight, great value and does what is needed which is to reduce or prevent glare when shooting outdoor facing at angle toward the sun.

Never liked clunky barn doors and big unclosable flags. This one is LIGHT and well made. Fits the carbon 15mm sticks perfectly and tightens down. I would buy it again. It's not a PRICE thing—it's a coolness thing. IMO.

If this is your first matte box that doesn't require all of the needs of a full featured matte box offer, then this is a decent value. But if your needs require options like the ability accept drop in filters and the smooth rather than indented flag adjustment of the flags, then spend a bit more for a box that has those features.

For the price, and effectiveness, it’s fine. A little flimsy, kind of moved in a breeze but nothing gaffers tape couldnt handle. It’s good tho, in a pinch

The rail and riser parts are aluminum. The matte box and flags are plastic. Fits on 60mm wide/15mm rod systems. The flags snap onto the matte box, they stay put when you adjust, very nicely designed and built. Slides smooth on rails.

My first shoot with this matte box seemed free of any unwanted lens flare. (I should note that I wasn't doing a controlled comparison of the same scenes with and without the matte box.)You'll need a set of rails, since unlike a lens hood, the matte box doesn't attach directly.The barn doors detach for packing. They're plastic, so don't run over them with your car. But even with a small set of rails, this item adds very little weight to your kit.And they look kind of cool.

It doesn't fit the standard 15mm rail rod system. I have a pair of 15mm rods, and a set of matching clamps/adapters, from different brands, and they work together well. However this matte box is very tight when I put it on, even when all screws are loosen. And even worse, when this matte box is put on the rail, it becomes very difficult to put on other clamps.I really hope I could use this matte box because of its attractive price and large diameter, but it's just not usable. It simply doesn't fit on the 15mm rail system.

I actually bought two of these to go with my BMPCC4k cameras. These guys are sturdy and very light weight. I would have given it 5 stars but I left one in of these in my pelican suitcase and the next morning one of the blades was a little bent. I set a weight on it for a few hours and it went right back to normal. It's definitely not a deal breaker but. I will be more cautious moving forward about where I keep it so the blades don't get bent out of shape.

Does what it is designed for. Because he material is light I found that it does move in the wind.
