High quality & versatile but too bulky for my EDC
There's a time and a place for single purpose versus multi-purpose tools. That said I have no need for this in my garage or my workshop. I got this to go into my bag of stuff for if something goes really cattywhompus and I have to get up and go with my family. It's not about packing everything and the kitche sink but a balance has to be struck between the space used and the usefulness of whats packed and this fits that niche nicely.I don't think there's anything plastic in this tool, it's all machined metal and feels solid in the hand. The parts that are meant to be operated are knurled so it's clear thought went into the design. Operation is relatively straight forward you access the bits by turning the dial near the socket and you slide them out of the machined slots that hold them captive. Every exposed surface is finished smoothly and the colors look sleek. Both the socket for the bit and the socket extender are magnetized, and the ring around the socket itself is magnetized for holding screws which is a novel use for the space. The rear of the screwdriver is free spinning like a large jewlers screwdriver and can be extended and folded over to apply maximum torque. In the bottom of the included holster is repair parts and tools which I saw as a testament to the quality and thought that goes into the tool which is a nice touch. The only criticisms I have for the screwdriver are petty. The holsters pretty generic/cheap and while it holds everything there's enough room in the holster for it to move around a bit. The crux of a versatile tool is often going to be an increase in weight and that rings true with this tipping the scale at 190g and an additional 30g but you're not going to get the same quality if you make this any lighter so it's worth every gram in my opinion. The tools smaller than a 2aa maglite in length but a little bulkier. It fits fine in my pocket; however, the sharp angles of the screwdriver make it hang on things when taking it out of my pocket. The largest gripe I have is even though its machined with very tight tolerances when walking around with it in the holster or my pocket it rattles a little bit, I rectified that by putting a thick rubber band around the top row of the bits which held all the columns in place and eliminated the rattle.Bottom Line: This is a high quality versatile tool thats probably too bulky for most EDC but would do well in an emergency kit of tools.

Hefty tool with easy access to bits
This multi-bit screwdriver works great. It's a hefty tool. It's all metal, and it feels substantial, weighing in at 5.7 ounces. Also, because of the spinning top cap, it fits in the palm of your hand. The exposed bits make it super easy to find the one you're after. Then, the knurled knob on the base can rotate to release the bit. There's even a small magnet in each slot to make sure the bits don't fall out. The bits are all the standard 1/4 inch size, so you can always add others. Plus, there's a hidden feature for the really stubborn screws: the top cap lifts out to form an arm for added leverage. On the 1-inch bits, the screwdriver has good retention with a good magnet and very little wiggle. On 2 inch "power" bits and the included extension, there is a lot of wiggling. Also, while the included belt pouch is otherwise well-made, the screwdriver won't fit unless the bit is removed.
