ESV German/English Parallel Bible (Luther/ESV, Dark Red) (English and German Edition)

I purchased my first book about 5 years ago and have worn it out because I have been reading it faithfully 1-2 hours every day. Consequently, I purchased my second one to replace the first one. The cover is scotch taped together because of my rough handling. I really wish there could be a more durable cover version and one with thumb indexes. I have spent more hours reading this book than all the time that I was in Germany 40 years ago! Both the English and the German are easy to read, and they are truly parallel text so the book works well for German learning without the use of a German dictionary. I have learned more German from this book than all the time I was in German school in Germany! I can not express enough my gratitude and thankfulness to Crossway for the development of this book. Whoever uses this book will receive blessing unlimited. Thank you Crossway and all those that put this wonderful Bible together. I wish I could say this to you personally.Ich habe vor ca. 5 Jahren mein erstes Buch gekauft und haben es getragen, weil ich habe gelesen, es treu 1-2 Stunden täglich. Daher kaufte ich meine zweite, die erste zu ersetzen. Die Abdeckung ist Scotch wegen meiner rauen Umgang mit Klebeband zusammen. Ich wünschte wirklich, es könnte ein haltbarer Coverversion und eine mit Daumen Indizes sein. Ich habe mehr Stunden damit verbracht, dieses Buch zu lesen, als die ganze Zeit, die ich vor 40 Jahren in Deutschland! Sowohl die englischen und die deutschen sind einfach zu lesen, und sie sind wirklich Paralleltext so dass das Buch eignet sich gut für Deutsch Lern ohne den Einsatz von einem deutschen Wörterbuch. Ich habe mehr Deutsche aus diesem Buch als alle Zeit, die ich in der deutschen Schule in Deutschland gelernt! Ich kann nicht genug ausdrücken, meine Dankbarkeit und Dankbarkeit zu Crossway für die Entwicklung dieses Buches. Wer wird in diesem Buch erhalten Segen unbegrenzt. My preferred English translation is the Geneva, but ESV has been a favorite study translation for my wife. I've recently started reading ESV when I got this parallel bible. The Lutherübersetzung is already familiar as this was my German bible at University. That was many years ago and I'm renewing my German studies with this Parallel bible as an excellent way to study and expand my vocabulary. It also provides an interesting insight into translation as the German and English sometimes have different connotations in each native tongue.

The German version is what I needed. German isMy mother tongue. Old English is more difficult.

It is a really great bible with English and German.

Its east to follow. German and English are easy to switch back and forth. Even with translations of verses being different in length, you can easily switch back and forth. Wunderbar! It has omitted at least one verse I found, Matt 17:21. I don't know if there are other verses. I think that a common problem with recent translations due to a different choice of ancient text. That's why I gave it 4 not 5. I just wrote it in.

I love the font size and the page thickness is not too thin like some of my other Bibles.

Learning German as a native English speaker. Read a post on Facebook on a German language learning group about this bible. Read the word of God in English and in German on the same page.
