Q: looking for an insole that does not take up too much room in shoe?

These are very thing. The heel does have cushioning but usually it is the mid to bottom that people have problems with and this particular insole is almost flat. It does have a nice arch support.

Lillie Dr. Sholls makes a gel insert for ladies that are just about $2.00 more and they would really cushion your feet much more...jus sayin'.
