Moomin Deluxe: Volume One (Moomin Deluxe Editions) Hardcover – October 21, 2014

I recently added this beautiful edition of the Moomin comics to my book collection, and I absolutely adore it! As a fan of Moomin and all the beloved characters, this deluxe edition is a true gem. The witty comics bring so much joy, and they make for an especially satisfying read on rainy days.One thing to note is that the book is quite big and heavy, which makes it less practical to carry around. However, the quality and charm of this edition more than make up for its size. The deluxe format really showcases the artwork beautifully, and I plan on purchasing the other deluxe edition as well.

just more than i couldve hoped for as someone who fell in love with the cartoon when it started being free on youtube when it was blocked in the states, and well, still is- need a vpn and everything if i want to watch moominvalley! but now i can read it as it was written and its so charming from the way she has creative little variations on the borders of the comics and funny little creatures that just exist hidden in the detailed flowers and such, i keep taking pictures of specific drawings to show my friends just because of how funny they are on their own. ill definitely be buying more when i can.

Beautifully produced collection of the Moomin comics.

I came to the Moomin comic after enjoying the anime. The comics have a slightly different feel--like maybe a little more sass that the serene sweetness of the anime?--but I like the comics also! I appreciate being able to get them in two big volumes (this is the first one) instead of hunting multiple smaller volumes.

This is a huge heavy book and all the illustrations are in black and white. I had never heard of this author/illustrator until buying two of the Moomin cups from Amazon. They are adorable so I became interested in what Moomin was all about.

The book is great, it's large and the case is colorful. The comics inside are b&w printed on thick paper. Now the bad part-I had to order this twice because the packaging is terrible, there is no plastic covering to protect it and the book was just thrown in the box. The first copy that was sent was broken in pieces and the book was dented and ripped. Reading the reviews this seems to be common, if the book wasn't almost $60 I would be less likely to complain.

I was so excited for this to arrive and it was worth the wait. Absolutely gorgeous. Just lovely. The hard case is delightful, and the cover is embossed with a monotone Moomin. The introduction is in vivid colour and there is a free poster that I didn't see in the product description. It feels like too little to pay for something so well made with love. For some reason I'm having this bizarre urge to buy another one just in case. If you love Moomin, you'll love this. All the comics are there in the original black and white, nice clear print and sturdy paper.
