The Prince: A Wicked Novella
E**E
Captivating, Thrilling & HOT
WOW. First of all, I really liked Ivy from the Wicked series. She was a bit hard headed and naïve at times but I liked her. However, after reading these Novellas I realized that I liked Brighton A LOT more. Who knew little miss Brighton would go from becoming a shadow within the Order to one hell of a kick-ass- heroine?? LOVED her. Honestly she deserves all the hype.Brighton is older, more mature, incredibly brave & kind. Before her attack she felt like an insignificant member of the order. Her mother and father were well trained fighters whom were incredibly respected by the Order. She never felt worthy. Before her attack, she was hoping to begin training,“I’d finally be… useful. Worthy of those I called my friends and, most importantly, worthy of the legacy of my family. Those of you who have read the Wicked series know that Brighton was a mere shadow in the Order. Someone you could count on to conduct research, run errands or ask for a ride; Never to fight in battle. In The Prince we are introduced to a new Brighton. A kickass , murderous Brighton that dresses up in promiscuous outfits to disguise herself so that she can seek revenge on those who changed her life forever. As an empath like Brighton, I was able to connect with her a lot. The Prince had an evil past (being under a malicious spell by the Queen that causes you to be abusive and murder a bunch of people kind of does that) but she saw through it, understood the weight of his guilt, knew that your past doesn’t have to be all that you are and people can change. She definitely did. Unlike the Order, her passion to help find the younglings was also admirable. Fae or not, to Brighton, your life mattered. And leave it up to Jen to make the villain of the Wicked series attractive & someone we evidently start rooting for🙄.The sexual tension between these two was 🔥🔥🔥"“My back hit the wall, and then he was there, his large body crowding mine in. Panic began to blossom, but I fought it down. I started to raise my leg, aiming for where it counted, but he pressed his hips in, trapping a large thigh between mine.“Foolish. So Very foolish,” he said. “Also kind of hot”.I really loved how brazen Brighton was whenever the Prince tried to intervene,“You can tell his royal Dickness that this is a public establishment and he does not get to dictate where I go and what I do.”Overall, I loved how quickly the story began. Those who haven’t read the Wicked Series can still enjoy the Novellas. Jennifer does a great job at bringing new (or familiar) readers into the world of the Fae without giving too much. I loved getting small updates on familiar faces. The ending doesn’t necessarily end on a huge cliffhanger but definitely sets it up for the next installment, “The King”.Would I recommend: AbsolutelyRe-read it?: YES

WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED. I DESPERATELY need more!
WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED.I’m shook ya’ll! That seriously cannot be it. That absolutely cannot be how Brighton and Caden’s story ends. I will not and do not accept this! I DESPERATELY need more!I’m a HUGE Jennifer Armentrout fan. I love her, I’m obsessed with her words and have been for as long as I can remember! I started The Wicked Trilogy the very second that Wicked hit my kindle and I’ve been obsessed with this series since then. Wicked was where we first met Brighton and Caden and we were lucky enough to continue to get glimpses of them throughout the trilogy. When I first read the blurb for The Prince I was so excited. I loved both characters in the Wicked Trilogy and couldn’t wait to get more of them. However I never considered that they could ever be together. I was anxiously waiting to get my hands on The Prince so I could see how Jennifer Armentrout made this work! And gah did she ever make this work! The Prince picks up two year’s after the events that concluded the Wicked Trilogy. The world for the Order and Fae has changed drastically. The effects from events that took place in the original trilogy and afterwards have left scars that may or may not be healed. While it’s short in length it’s not short in angst, action and character development. I’m always apprehensive about reading Novellas because it seems hard to write so much into something that’s not a full length novel. I feel like Novellas are either done very right or terribly wrong. The Prince was done very right! The character development and the development of the story were perfectly timed and suited the overall feel of the novella and the Wicked Trilogy as a whole. From the moment ‘The Prince’ arrived in Wicked, I knew there was a story there. I never would have guessed what would've happened in Torn and Brave but was so glad that it turned out the way it did. I’ve always had a fascination with him.‘The Prince’ or Caden was a completely different character in The Prince to what he was in Wicked. He was guarded and secretive and downright evil at times but in The Prince he was the opposite. A little sarcastic, a lot damaged, a ton sexual and I absolutely loved getting this side of him and learning more about him. He was compassionate towards Brighton and very tortured by his past actions and I’m incredibly fascinated and obsessed with him.Brighton was a quiet character in the Wicked Trilogy. A little mousey but very intelligent. She’d had a difficult upbringing but still remained positive. The Brighton we get in The Prince is completely different. She’s strong in more ways than one, she’s still intelligent but also not afraid to stand up for herself and what she believes in. I loved Brighton, I loved her character development and I loved seeing these different sides of her. The reactions she has to situations were so accurate to what could or would happen in everyday life. She was true to herself from beginning to end.Overall The Prince was a great Novella and a great introduction to Brighton and Caden’s relationship. It left us with one hell of a cliff hanger that requires answers as soon as possible! While this would be a great introduction to Jennifer Armentrout’s writing I would recommend reading the Wicked Trilogy prior to this Novella.

Awesome series
Love this book. There are 3 in total. Make sure to read the wicked series by Jennifer L. Armentrout first.

Brighton 2.0!!!!
Brighton getting her own story surprised me at first.... But WOW, she is a total bad ass!Her evolution from quiet and unassuming to big, bold and fierce had a very sad start but she definitely had me turning those pages to see what happens next!I was very happy to read the snippets about Ren, Ivy and of course Tink. Some parts didn't surprise me but that was more because I had already expected that from the previous books. The ending had me on the edge of my seat needing the next book right NOW!Novellas don't normally pack that much of a punch but this one definitely had one hell of an upper cut!I have purchased my copy on Amazon AU.

Great as usual
Don’t know why I waited so long to read this Wicked novella. Jennifer Armentrout delivers a great story as usual. Kept me enthralled in the romance and adventure the whole way.
