Q: What is the diameter of the scribe rod ?

1/4”You can take the one rod out and put a pencil in it.I use it like that for doing a true radius.I put a piece of 3/4”x3/4”x8’ piece of poplar wood on them.And I could do up to a 14’ perfect circle with them setting them to 7’ as an example.

Q: Can we fit an X-acto knife into this clamp?

The description mentions ball point pens which seem to be at least equal to or larger than the xacto knife handle. If you wish, look at the Grizzly Trammel point (on Amazon). It shows an optional point clamp option on one of the trammel points, and that might be what you are looking for.

Q: What size pencil lead will fit these trammels?

A draftsman pencil lead will fit the fitting or a metal point ( a wood common pencil will not fit).
